Interesting that Sky Bet have us 2/1 favourites to be his next permanent club.

Unless Jabo is off somewhere else why would we be interested in Akinfenwa.

He's now 10/11, strange one if true. Mind you it won't take much betting to shift the market.

Because we only have two strikers on our books?

Jabo, Akinfenwa and Wyke would scare the sh1t out of league 2.

He'd be a useful player to have, but Jabo offers more imo. Far more mobile, quicker and more of a goal threat.

If Akinfenwa, Wyke, Ibehre were our 3 strikers, we'd need a 4th who was more pacey and can get in behind defences.

The Wimbledon boss said at the start of the season that he made a conscious decision to go with 4 strikers. He wanted attacking football to please the fans, and he felt in League 2 he needed goal scorers,so he chose 4 strikers all slightly different to each other.

Akinfenwa creates a buzz, even at Wembley he lifted his team as soon as he came on. Similar to Bridges for us, he has a talisman effect. I would be amazed if he would travel this far North, he'd certainly give the new gym a good work out though.

Was at Wembley yesterday with a Wimbledon mate. When Akinfenwa came on he totally changed the dynamics of the game. Plymouth could not deal with him at all.

Listened to him being interviewed, he sounded like a very interesting bloke, plus he's like a bull, has he got a full season in him?

If your desperately trying to get a goal late in a match, he's the kind of player you throw on with wyke or Ibehre very few centre backs will handle them if you lump balls into the box.

I've seen both sides to his game, the threat when a team are chasing a game and the constant fouling side. can be a very frustrating player to watch

to be fair a lot of his 'fouls' are the opposition just running into him and bouncing off as he just stands his ground.
16 stone with a turn of pace and incredible strength. there's worse players available.

Reckons he's got another 2 seasons in him. Seems like a genuinely nice guy. Plus surely with him and Jabo we would have the physically strongest forward line in the world.

Didn't he score the dodgy handball goal for Swansea in the LDV vans at Millenium Stadium?

6/4 with SkyBet after being 3/1 yesterday. Suspect we have asked the question to him without putting a contract on the table. Or his agent has approached us.

We're not big time, it'll be a cufc fan has had a tenner on. nothing more, bookies are silly for having a market on this.

Then Grimsby at 5/1.
We are not even in the betting.

seems like a great guy and character but he's not right for us when we have Jabo. Waste of a wage we should be buying someone better than what we have and or someone that offers something different. I'd rather we got a young lad, with pace, in on loan for a season.

Few posters on here mind who have put up screenshots of four figure bets on these types of markets to be fair. Ten quid at 20s or above is enough for me! Horrible markets really and probably should be banned.

I always thought markets like that, more at the higher level than our league, should be banned.

How can it be ok for Sky to own a sports channel, which will report transfer rumours, whilst also owning a bookmakers that take bets on said rumours. Surely there's a massive conflict of interest there.
