Quite right, I hadn't noticed that. Thanks

It's probably just the way the human mind works but mine shortened "latitude and autonomy" to "lobotomy". Let's hope I'm wrong....

If they didn't add this age would there be any chance of the situation getting better? If they don't micromanage everything he does this *could* help improve the financial situation, it should certainly free up SK and in particular PK to focus on their roles.

Not sure what I make of this to be honest.

No but it certainly explains Nixons radio appearance tomorrow and why it was scheduled so far in advance knowing that this would be announced today

Definitely more to his departure from HTFC than is being let on

But looking at his picture two words come to mind CORPORATE and SMARMY just the sort of CEO you would expect a shit like Nixon to get excited about Jenkins has clearly just done as hes told once again.

What dio you expect him to look like
Maybe he should wear a batman cape or get his had tatooed!!

ERR HOW ABOUT A FOOTBALL FAN NOT AN ACCOUNTANT

Without the Fans there.d be Fu*ck All left

Can't you be both?

I can't really see anything wrong here. Looks a good appointment in a position we need filled. As for wage cost, if he's any good he'll be wotth more to the club than he's being paid.

He's an accountant so he'll know how to run a business. This could be great news, well done the owners.

That's the problem I think moorlad. We all knew we needed this position filled ages ago but were told we couldn't afford it and it wasn't needed anyway.

I don't know whether that's entirely the case, I think they actually wanted to appoint somebody around the time of Laffy's bid. They didn't do it then, and all the criticism about them stealing Laffy's ideas probably made them dig their heels in and prove him wrong.

They're now admitting he was right and they were wrong. Obviously they can't say so, so this was their only option.

That's the whole point any decent CEO should be making the club more money than what they cost, if they do their job right. This was something the custodians didn't believe not too long ago, didn't they say that JN was doing it for free and there was no money there for that position??

I'm relaxed-the club needs a CEO with some credentials and that's what we appear to have got.To be frank,no one was going to put money into the current structure-the evidence is there,so this is a positive step in making the club an investable proposition.

That it smacks of hypocrisy because of the previous 'we can't afford it' statement is irrelevant.

Interestingly,he will be CEO of the 1921 company-another point I wanted as I don't think being on both boards of directors is smart-conflict of interest and lack of accountability.

In summary, positive move and good luck to the guy-he will need some and more and he is certainly going in near the bottom so only way is up for him

I don't think there's anything wrong with the appointment as it's something we need. The timings an obvious tact from Nixon to avoid the MD questions but if it means we have a CEO that's not an owner than that's good.

Time will tell whether it's a good appointment but you can't be critical of every decision the owners make as I feel this is a good one.

I'm amazed at the negativity on this thread, a CEO coming in, he is not a crony of the incumbents, he's an accountant by profession, specializing in liquidation which is a great skill-set to have in a football club that is struggling financially. He will probably start off with a tooth and nail review of the financial situation at the club, identify wastage (which i'm sure we all agree exists). Plus he went into Huddersfield pretty green, he's 8 years experience now as a football club CEO.

This should be really good for the club
Nigel Clibbens - eradicating waste, reducing overheads, implementing change
Phil King - full capacity to raise revenue

throw in the positive signings made so far and next season looks to have great potential

Labla,
That what the Financial Director was brought in for.
She has been there a year at it.
Hope there was no hidden meaning in your comments about liquidation.

See his Linkedin profile here:https://www.linkedin.com/in/nigel-clibbens-a2566022?authType=NAME_SEARCH&authToken;=lhSb&locale;=en_US&trk;=tyah&trkInfo;=clickedVertical%3Amynetwork%2CclickedEntityId%3A79254461%2CauthType%3ANAME_SEARCH%2Cidx%3A1-1-1%2CtarId%3A1464865729185%2Ctas%3ANigel%20Clibbens

No particular emphasis on liquidation and insolvency. Although when he qualified it was his specialist area 22 years ago !

Hope the guy does well but does this mean less money for Keith on my he playing side all because JN needs to pay someone else to be his front man as he is useless?....is Nixon still on the payrol to hold a plastic titled job?

You forgot
Nixon - c**t who still has final say in anything important .

For whats its worth i think it will be another high paid nodding dog on the payroll and if Nixon and Jennkins are still going to be unflushable turds we might as well sack Kidd ,King and this new fella now give the coin to the manager and hope the team can play the club out of the shite !
