So glad it was not Keen, or most of the others mentioned.
Definitely better than had expected.
Would have been happy enough with Evans to be honest. Despised him at first, but came round to him, and had probably earned a shot at it.

Agree fully with the Monk comments.
Some say he had Laudrup's team, but to get them to 8th in his first (only) full season is good going to say the least.
Funny tale with Evans when he first turned up was there was no kit big enough for him in the shops, so his Mrs was sowing Leeds logos on his own clothes.
Not sure what the weight loss was about and I agree on the play-offs. His signings in particular were good on a limited budge.
It was rumoured that there were 8 looked at, but the other side is he was looking at who was available.
If you mean Robinson and the Bristol Rovers manager, Robinson so so and other too young.
Shows how far we have fallen/Cellino has been found out (suspect more the latter to be honest) for those two and others to say no thanks.
As I say, Monk by far the best of those linked, so happy days (until Cellino fucks it up again)

No, don't think so.
He was openly boasting about the loss, and said he had not finished yet, so not something he was trying to hide.
Cellino openly said he was not convinced he was the man to get promotion, but had done job he was brought in for.
Don't forget Leeds was the biggest job Evans has had by far, or ever likely to get.
Even his departing statements (buying tickets to see Leeds when back in premier) suggest he may just have grown up.

The furthest back I can remember us aying them was about 95/96 when the Scratchers was levelled and most of them left early to loads of abuse as we stuffed them 3-0.

There wasn't that much trouble. They just ran across the pitch then a few of them tried to fight along the paddock. If you wanted to see trouble the Easter Monday game against them in April 1990 was pretty wild after the game as was an fa cup game in about 1983.

All the anti burnley songs now lost to posterity.

They had a superb following a real football town.

They let themselves in the Paddock. They were being put in the scatchers but when the water works opened up many of them already in there ran across the pitch going behind the goal, however some twaty types made a run at the paddock. Watching from the warwick it seemed that the CUFC fans were not up for trouble and why the hell should they have been! This behaviour now seems more embarressing as it occurred realtively soon after fences had been taken down following the Hillsborough disaster. It did seem a bit out of control and seemed a little scarey. A twaty thing to do, to punch an eighteen year old steward.

I had a mild altercation with an intoxicated 'gentleman' outside the old spar. He thought it was amusing and witty to miss read my Sealy shirt as "silly". He thought he could; with numerical advantage, then move on to being intimidating.

Aye they brought a good many nuggets that day.
