TOPIC: The Hangers On

What is it with people today all they seem to care about are themselves.We have the Carlisle fiasco with the board hanging on not caring about the fans .Then you had the FIFA shambles with the alledged payments there again the leaders hung on and on until finally they were finally found out they didnt care about the state of Football .Now we have the Brexit Vote certain politicians on the stay side are aiming for seats on the euro parliament just thinking about themselves and not whats best for the country.Is it just them or on a whole is it a sign of the times we live in.

You can stick a lot of today's teenagers and kids on that list. Selfish, disrespectful and no respect for anything or anyone. Sad sign of the times.

Add to that some NHS Chief Execs and senior management who preside over poor patient care, staff harassment and bullying and the ensuing cover up. At best should be instantly dismissed losing all pay, benefits and pension entitlement, at worst should be taken out and given a lead ear ring.

What Happyblue says is quite right. Every generation blames the ones after it going years back.

Parents in the 40's will have blamed rock and roll for the corruption of their kids. The same people listening to it will then have blamed the Beatles in the 60's. That will then have moved onto pop, punk, dance etc.

It's why older people always hark back to 'the good old days' whilst forgetting the bad bits like world war and polio.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Pretty much every adult knows what are the right things to do in life, not doing the right things is an individual making the wrong choice.

Would be intresting to see how the youth crime rate has changed, also intresting to add that teenagers and young adults do a lot more charity work than previous genrations at the same age.

It doesn't help that the transition from youth justice to adult justice systems are quite poor and there isn't a very good support network so quite a lot of youths that offend then go onto reoffend and quite soon the behaviour becomes entrenched and very hard to break.

It is about decisions yes and the majority of the population will be taught how to conform to societal norms. But if you are never taught what is right and wrong, or if you are taught that stealing and taking drugs is OK how can you be expected to suddenly change learned behaviour just because you hit 18 ?

It can be a lot harder than just thinking I shouldn't do this anymore. Sometimes that switch just doesn't click in some people's heads. It's similar to addiction, people should know not to bet all their money in the bookies, but the still do.
