99% of players would go over the wall to the other side. Bale usually would! That's probably why the keeper made that movement towards that side. Poor goalkeeping yeah, but there's reason behind it.

The keeper obviously had done his homework, hence him taking a step towards the side that Bale usually goes for.

Yeah sterling has been poor. Loses possession far too often. It will be interesting to see what Guardiola does with him, because he won't stand for a player that loses the ball so easy and frequently

Should have been a comfortable win. Wales may well top the group, which is hard to take.
Like at a Carlisle match, playing fairly well and not winning is 10 times more disappointing than just being shit.

Have to say Kyle Walker played well and was very cavalier...always enjoy right backs getting forward and often.Other positives, Rooney also impressed me with his play in midfield and Dier is growing into the side,good tackler and can get goals too..his strike was as crisp as you get last night.

Sterling is an international level Johann Smith! Defenders crap themselves the first time he runs at them but they pretty soon realise that all the speed and tricks in the world are nothing if they can't be applied to some sort of tactical awareness or basic understanding of how football should work!

Wilshire's cameo at the end was also promising, he did far more in 15 minutes than Sterling for example achieved in the entire match. It's a pity that England thought that the offside rule had been suspended just for the Euro 2016 tournament, the number of passes where we just took the wrong option or the player (yes you Sterling) was ambling back onside.

His running looks weird too! Just does not look strong enough or athletic enough. Final ball is too often wasted and at this level we can't really afford that. I've said it before, Andros Townsend is a better player for England.

When a England nicked the goal all he had to do was replace the ineffective Kane and Sterling with two players who could stretch Russia on the break and kill the game.

Instead he shit it, tried to see out the game and got done and f**king deservedly so, show some balls you gutless old [censored].

Hart has no control over his defence, he should've been practically dragging them out to 18 yards before the ball came in for the goal.

Kane was hopeless but it's the first poor game I've seen him have for England so I think you can let him off tonight. Might've been nerves so you'd stick with im but as for Sterling a complete waste of time.
