TOPIC: The "Keogh Chester Westwood Norwood Evans" Euro 2016 Thread

Noticed there wasn't a general thread to discuss the Euro 2016 matches so thought I'd set one up.

Wales 1-0 up with half an hour to go thanks to a Bale free-kick. James Chester has been excellent, arguably Man of the Match so far.

1-1 - Ramsey pretty weak in the build-up.

Poland will have too much for N Ireland I think. Can't see them handling Lewandowski

I take it Dzagoev is injured. Russia look devoid of any ability in the final third without him.

Great strike from Modric in the Croatia v Turkey game. Could be dark horses in the tournament Croatia.

Cracking strike,keeper saw it late through the crowd of players.

Great second-half from Iceland. Portugal were poor - Ronaldo is a proper fraud on free-kicks these days... he's taken 34 at major international tournaments and not scored any!

Never understand why folk think Portugal are good? Ronaldo, possibly Renato and the rest are doggo. Nani probably their best player tonight!

Depends what you class as good. Good as in you'd expect them to comfortably beat Iceland.... yes. Good as in I expect them to win Euro2016... No. They aren't going to win the thing, but they are good enough to get to the last 8 at least.

Pepe would walk into just about any national team imo, great player just wish he'd cut out the acting.

Andre Gomes is an unreal talent when he wants to be, he's a frustrating player but on his day pure class.

But your general point is fair - Portugal would be a shock winner were they to triumph. You're perhaps a bit harsh on Carvalho though CCU - if he was English he would have been first choice centre back for the last 4 years I reckon, and has been a class player for 10+ years.

Italy have impressed me most so far, even though they're limited in comparison to Italian teams of the past, and bunch of dirty gets. Very open tournament.

Took France a while tonight, but they've got the win and also game time into Martial and Coman. Deschamps will be happy...

Wouldn't say france created anything through flowing pass and move football, Martial was abysmal. Coman done well but surely they have to improve if they are serious contenders, not impressed by them so far. saying that i'll take that performance and result for us tomorrow.

Just seen martials stats. 10 passes, one take on and 1 shot. not a lot for 45 mins of football.
