Saw a mad stat before, something like 14 goals so far in the first half, and 13 goals so far after 87 minutes.

Not surprised at all ..expected Austria to join that stat after Portugal's efforts

Plenty of borefests with teans setting up negatively... sucking the life out of it.. teams packing midfield leaving isolated strikers with very little support.. it better liven up..its been worst tournament for entertainment for a long time

That's what happens when you expand the number of teams in the tournament. Infantino is wanting to expand the world Cup already to summat ridiculous but the powers that be aren't interested in the standard of play but more to do with how much cash they can rake in.

I can't wait for this first round to be over as it's been pretty dismal on the whole.

worst since...2010 and 2008 where a combination of bad football and awful refereeing spoilt it. 2012 wasnt great either.

saying that i'm actually enjoying watching England this year. normally the other way round.

With the number of qualification places in the groups increasing the value of a draw has gone up, therefore a lot of teams were always likely to sit back in their first couple of games, especially the weaker ones. Late goals also always more likely when teams sit back as tiredness becomes a bigger factor.

Things should improve as it goes on

I agree with Mark and Wukkie, for the most part the games so far have been pretty cack. I am still giggling about Ronaldo though to be fair, that has to be some of the funniest stuff in football for years.

I have to say though, the standard of refereeing has been very good, they seem to be letting games flow, and they are ignoring diving to a reasonable extent.

Did anyone go for 1-0 England, 85-90 minutes tonight?
