A strange one tonight.
Talented players failed to control the ball, shoot accurately, put a semi-decent cross in, basic defending, keeper make a simple save.
Yes Roy made a lot of poor choices, but as has been said the individual performances of the players were ridiculous. What was that about?
The buck stops with Woy. He selected an utterly dog shite squad and failed to prepare them and failed to motivate them.
The inept performances in the Wales and Slovakia games were a clear warning.
I am amazed anybody is remotely shocked by tonights result.
Just like the World Cup 2 years ago, He went into this tournament having no idea what his best team was, or best formation was, and devoid of tactical nous.
At this level, the failure to establish these principles are criminal.
He chopped and changed throughout the qualifying and friendlies, making it impossible to work out the best way forward.
Even in the final 2 friendlies before the tournament he played Drinkwater and Townsend when it was obvious to everyone that they were going to be dumped.
These games should have been used to build a settled side.
Leaving Drinkwater at home but taking Henderson and Wilshire is a crime in itself. He deserves the bullet for this alone.
Having Kane take corners and free kicks, was another ridiculous idea.
Then, in tonight's shambles, only bringing Rashford on with 5 minutes to go when you've been chasing a goal for 45 minutes just sums the thick c*nt up.
Good riddance to the prick. Its 2 years too late.
He should have went after the pitiful showing in Brazil, and I said so at the time.
On a side note, after the Wales and Slovakia sh*t, I backed my hunch about what would happen tonight and stuck £25 on Iceland to beat us.
Every cloud........
