If only we'd let them in the paint pot trophy a couple of seasons back we'd have beaten Iceland easily.

To be fair to him how is that his fault. Those players should have beaten Iceland regardless of the manager. Utter shite the lot of them.

To be fair he has overseen a team that got drawn in the weakest group and didn't win it and then went on to lose to the weakest team left in the knockout stages whilst been given a goal start .

He's crap no wonder liverpool got rid and chose Rodgers as his replacement .

2 major tournaments.

7 games, 1 win.

Defeated by Iceland. Failed to beat Costa Rica, Russia, and Slovakia. Needed an injury time winner to beat Wales. Only scored more than 1 goal once.

Unimaginative. No plan B. Predictable.

Other than that, utterly shit.

Accepted, to be fair drawing with Slovakia was a right cock up but having to play Iceland! It should be impossible to pick 11 players from that squad who can't beat Iceland. It's not Hodgson's fault that overpaid [censored] can't control a football , or shoot straight, or save shots that are straight at them, or take a decent set piece (although it is fault that Kane was taking them)

Everyone on this board knew Wilshire hadn't kicked a ball in anger all season(most know hes overated too)
Everyone in the world knows Rooney isn't a central midfielder
Everyone knows we have other midfielders who had fantastic seasons
Everyone has seen how well Leicster have done this year with Vardy and Drinkwater being huge reasons
Everyone knows if Walcott was fit he would be there ect..ect..

At least the next manager knows how shite Hart is too...

A strange one tonight.
Talented players failed to control the ball, shoot accurately, put a semi-decent cross in, basic defending, keeper make a simple save.
Yes Roy made a lot of poor choices, but as has been said the individual performances of the players were ridiculous. What was that about?

The buck stops with Woy. He selected an utterly dog shite squad and failed to prepare them and failed to motivate them.

The inept performances in the Wales and Slovakia games were a clear warning.
I am amazed anybody is remotely shocked by tonights result.
Just like the World Cup 2 years ago, He went into this tournament having no idea what his best team was, or best formation was, and devoid of tactical nous.
At this level, the failure to establish these principles are criminal.
He chopped and changed throughout the qualifying and friendlies, making it impossible to work out the best way forward.
Even in the final 2 friendlies before the tournament he played Drinkwater and Townsend when it was obvious to everyone that they were going to be dumped.
These games should have been used to build a settled side.
Leaving Drinkwater at home but taking Henderson and Wilshire is a crime in itself. He deserves the bullet for this alone.
Having Kane take corners and free kicks, was another ridiculous idea.
Then, in tonight's shambles, only bringing Rashford on with 5 minutes to go when you've been chasing a goal for 45 minutes just sums the thick c*nt up.
Good riddance to the prick. Its 2 years too late.
He should have went after the pitiful showing in Brazil, and I said so at the time.
On a side note, after the Wales and Slovakia sh*t, I backed my hunch about what would happen tonight and stuck £25 on Iceland to beat us.
Every cloud........

We played with a striker in midfield alongside a central defender, and couldn't pass the ball to each other. We played a striker on the right side of whatever shambles of a system we played. Deli Alli has been exposed as a myth, what is he good at? Bad touch, doesn't dictate the game, doesn't win the ball back, doesn't create chances. Like Bastian Hery. The premier league has created a squad full of players who can't play a position, not midfielders, not forwards. Full backs who think their main role is to be good going forward and centre backs who think passing the ball to each other is being patient and good play. Then we have a goalkeeper who I genuinely think might not have hands.

I'm angry. That is the worst I've seen England play. Embarrassing.

Scored 11 goals.

1 win in his last 8 tournament games.

Laughable selections of Rooney, Wilshire, Kane, Sterling; ignoring in form players.

Joke of a fella like.
I think we should just stop playing international football for a few years.

A truly embarrassing 90 minutes, the team performance would have been considered poor if they`d have been playing in our league. Roy Hodgson looked like the rabbit in the headlights, clueless, unable to comprehend what was going on, unable to change it. Now we`ll get the same old chokers names for the successor from the out of touch FA, such as Pardew. For what it`s worth I wouldn`t mind seeing Eddie Howe or Slaven Bilic being considered.
You`re just jealous cos you can`t hear the voices

Everybody can have all of the blame for last night.

Roy (and the coaching staff) for not getting us set up properly for long throws.
Rooney and the centre halves not getting everyone to stay switched on as soon as we scored.
Rooney and the centre halves not winning the headers for the first goal.
Walker losing his man.
Everyone for not tackling anybody for the run up to the second goal. Hart believing his own hype and letting in such a tame shot for the second time this tournament.
Dier not being able to pass the ball to an England player.
Everyone loosing their head the first half and panicking.
The tactics of being pedestrian, walking the ball around the back for ages and then punting it upfield and out of play.
Kane being completely anonymous.
Roy selecting Sterling to play because he's a wide player, yet him never actually playing wide.
Roy selecting a squad whereby he feels like he has no other option but to play a completely out of form, out of confidence Sterling.
Rooney losing the ability to pass the ball to an England player in the second half.
Rashford being readied in the 74th minute, but not making it on until the 86th.
Kane taking corners and free kicks.
Kane shooting from anywhere and everywhere.
Every single person (including all of the fans there) not making damn sure that Kane knows that he should not be taking set pieces. That free kick (that not one person sat up and thought he might score this) was an absolute disgrace.
Rashford taking a corner. The lack of planning, composure, leadership, everything involved in that kid taking a corner in the 90th minute is an absolute disgrace.
Roy bottling out from answering any questions.
Pundits tweeting what they think, and then not having the bottle to be negative live on air. (Danny Baker's rant about Hoddle sugar coating of last night on Twitter is very good)
Not looking like we have a single plan of how to break teams down.

I could probably go on forever, last night's game was by far the worst performance I've seen England play. The players that England have are capable of competing at the highest level, that squad of players is technically very good. The mental strength that we have in tournaments to play our normal game, stop trying to copy other nations is mind blowing. Rooney being unable to pass the ball 10 yards without falling over or the ball hitting his standing leg for 45 minutes would absolutely never happen in the Premier League.
Arise, Sir Jimmy

Everyone's being a bit harsh. I thought England did OK. They finished second in what was one of the 6 toughest groups and they only lost by one goal to the best Iceland team in the world.

At the very least we should be able to expect that our professional team, no matter who is in it, will be drilled, determined, confident and with a game plan that everybody knows and everyone on the pitch carries out.

Failure to carry-out this basic requirement to properly contest a football match is totally down to the manager.

I'm sorry Woy, but you really need to hand over your completely unjustified and unearned £70.000 weekly wage to charity.

Highest paid manager of the 24 teams in the competition, for f*cks sake!

I feel sorry for the lads like Drinkwater who would not have let themselves and the country down, along with Vardy and Rashford who were not given a proper chance.

Hart isn't even the best keeper at Manchester City! For f*cks sake I could go on - Kane, Sterling, Rooney, Wilshere etc you're taking the p*ss.

The Sad reality is only one player let me down Kane I thought he was better than that
The vast majority played to the crap level I expected

Lallana
Dier
Vardy and at times the full backs excluded

we need a manager who sees beyond reputations and gets back to basics stops trying to fit names into systems and looks beyond the top six

Same old same old. Trying to fit square pegs in round holes. Woy selected favourites rather than players who could do the job. Why take players who have played a few minutes in a whole season when you had a fit, in form midfielder who had form a lethal combination with an in form striker.
Why was Kane so shit maybe it was because Ali had to make way for Rooney so wasn't at his most effective. Both Kane and Vardy thrive on quick ball but everything was slowed down through Rooney. But hey come the next team selection the British press will still be calling for Wiltshire and Rooney to be first names on team sheet. England will never be successful until we have a brave manager who picks a team rather than so called star players

I say clubs should not have to pay them while theyre with the National Squad that way you.ll see whos proud to be picked and wear the shirt and who simply couldnt give a fu ck whether theyre picked or not so long as they get their 100k a week.
