Have to wonder yet again about security in France and football full stop after that tonight like. Eventually one lunatic intent on serious harm will get on the pitch at an event, then there will be calls for all kinds of stuff to prevent it from happening again. Too little too late policy I imagine.

I was at the England v Russia game at the same stadium and the security was a disgrace. People were climbing over barriers to get to other parts of the stadium, and the checks at the entrance were pathetic. I've had more stringent security at cricket games. Obviously it wasn't a surprise when it all kicked off later.

To be fair, if a spectator really wanted to run on the pitch, unless there are 50,000 security personnel around the perimeter, it's pretty hard to stop them.

It's like pitch invasions at the end of a season; you watch the stewards make almost a token effort to look like they're stopping everyone from getting on, but really they're going to do absolutely nothing about it.
