What was our worst failing on the pitch last season? Giving the ball away in our own half. What did we do repeatedly in the first half today? Exactly that. I've not been paying much attention to the new signings so I don't know for sure which were playing other than Lambe, who came on at half time, scored and looked good but didn't last the half. He may have taken a knock. Queens were very dirty and Wyke has 6 inch stud marks down his calf from a particularly nasty foul. Their no 5 spent the whole game kicking our players.

Plus points include the 2nd half no10, an attacking midfielder who was very positive, fast and carried the ball well. Cameron Salkeld from the youth team made a decent contribution.

Very hard to judge someone on 45 mins or less, expecting 11 players who haven't played together to gel straight away is a bit much

You will see plenty of Lower league sides beating premier league teams, Always remember Newcastle first team getting beat 6-1 at Orient then going onto win the league.
