3-1 down in the last ten minutes at home to Cardiff, then Billy scored three. I think we still got relegated that season though.

Cardiff were in E Stand for some reason, gloating like chuff and was about to go home when he scored the first.
True Roy of the Rovers stuff after that.
Made match of the Day, which was unheard of then.

Have to admit I was on my way thru the Warwick Rd exit, with hundreds of others, when I turned round for one last look, only to see Rafferty burst thru the Cardiff defence and score. 2- 3 down so let's go back. Within minutes it was 3-3, then 4-3.
To be fair it had been a bloody awful game, typical drab winters afternoon, so how many who claim to have been there, actually stayed to see the complete hat trick.

There's a good chance they are pally if they're in-laws, I wasn't aware Jenkins had a daughter.

I stayed to the end, then floated home over Rickerby Park. I didn't realise at the time that Rafferty had scored all 3 of the late goals.

I don't think he did,in the last five minutes Bonnyman got 1 and Rafferty 2 to complete his hattrick.

I thought it was 7 minutes.
But let's not split hairs and fall out over 1 minute.
It was great to watch, I'm sure one of them was a bit of a fluke.
I think he shunned it.

I never left a game early no matter what the score was but at least 2 of my mates wandered away pissed off and were stunned when they saw the result later - some come back
