Okay, so let's assume that AJ is telling the truth and there really is a billionaire for a second.... if the Lapping deal was only going to be a "sticking plaster. It would have solved a problem for a year or so." Then what happens if talks break down with the Billionaire? Given that we haven't even talked to him/her yet by the sound of things, that is very much a possibility. If that happens we won't even have a sticking plaster... we will just be left with the open wound... and very little chance of finding another sticking plaster any time soon. Surely it would have been better to try to keep AL onside in case anything happens with the billionaire, rather than burning your bridges totally by questioning his credibility?

Time will tell I guess... but for AJ sake there better had be a Billionaire... and he better make damn sure he invests significant funds or he is going to look very stupid indeed. Worrying times.

Another thinly-veiled dig at AL. Calling his proposal a sticking plaster is a joke. Presumably AJ thinks the club is generating as much income as it possibly can, because I think the main point of AL's proposal was to make the club a self-sustaining business, not something that needs someone to fund it year on year.

The term would more realistically describe what they themselves are doing themselves right now, however...

If Jenkins didn't understand Lapping's plans for the future it explains a lot of how we seem to struggle when he's at the helm.

I happen to also believe there is genuinely interest from a billionaire. Anybody who says different is getting banned

Not conclusive proof I know, but it would be a fair indication of the lack of an investor that he hasn't even been spoken to in three months.

Also, very few billionaires are insane, which he'd have to be to put cash into this shambles. What could possibly be the motivation?

If the billionaire is from overseas, they may not have any connection to 1 specific club. It may be that we are available for a very low initial cost, and we could be improved with relatively low investment.

Add into it that we own our ground and supposedly have a large 'untapped' potential fanbase.

And saying that the AL plan fell down because it was only a sticking plaster, I thought it was because there wasn't the promised money and AL's alleged dubious business practices.

While it is indeed commendable to have such a long and dedicated association with CUFC, that shouldn't cloud the facts - primarily that AJ has had to bankroll the club because of his own leadership shortcomings.

From that statement and other recent ones, the impression that's given out is along the lines of "don't you see what I've done for you all?"

Well I'm sorry, Mr Jenkins. Your institutionalised views are not necessarily shared by the CUFC faithful, indeed, many would argue that whilst we admire your service, the time to 'call it a day' probably passed some time ago.

Sadly all this interview shows is that AJ still has blinkers on when it comes to Utd. I am sure he would run his business so badly so why our club. The so called sticking plaster would have got the club on a better footing and made it a better investment prospect for potential buyers it wasn't to keep it on the same road as at present or did I not understand what AL was trying to achieve.

What bothers me is this talk of £600k for both Potts and Dempsey. If Exeter can get £1.75 million from Swansea for one player ( and be happy to say so!),how can it be that Dempsey is a fraction of this?

Pete, tell me. What was in place to back up Lapping's plan in the long run, what would of happened in a year, then what would of happened In 3-4-5 years of Lapping's consortium?
