If rumours are true about Troy packing up and going darn sarf, I'd like to see CMW get a run in the team this season.

He's got real quality in there, I'm sure, I think he's a massive confidence player and just needs a run in the team.

Could be, if he is given the chance, a big season for the lad.

When he made his debut for us against brentford I thought it was only a matter of time until he went to a championship side at least. He looked a real prospect and I thought we did well to tie him to a contract. If only he could find that form.

Well every time I watched the lad he seemed to drop a clanger that cost us a goal when playing CB

looked better in def midfield role

It was noticeable at the start of the pre-season how much he had 'filled out'.
I agree he has a big opportunity this season but I reckon he'll be sent out on loan first to get some games.

I'd expect to see him shipped out to another club fairly soon, whether that would be a full transfer or a loan deal. Obviously his face doesn't fit with KC.

Been to see Carlisle a handful of times over the last few years due to money/work/location. Out of what I have seen, this fellas quality stood out. There is a cracking tune there, just needs the right person to get it out of him.

Really believe the talent is there, the application not so sure? Probs higher wage earner than most likely to be moved on for financial reasons as much as football ones.

A mate knows him from his days at Man City and that's pretty much what he thought of him - if he applied himself he would be playing at Championship level at least.

I tend to disagree with most people about CMW, I just don't see it.

For me, he lacks concentration, positional awareness and fitness. Most of the times when I've watched him he's been all over the place.

He's not improved in the slightest since his debut - in fact you could argue that he's gone backwards. Rather than looking at the couple of good games he had early doors and hoping there is some potential - I'd be more inclined to think that those games were one offs.

I'd love to be wrong - but we seem to have been waiting for this 'breakout' from him for about 2.5 years now.

Maybe loan is the option. He's definitely got something about him.

Either way he just needs a run of games which he hasn't really had in a while, to hopefully blow away the cob webs.

There was a few of us, me included, very excited about him and Troy as our defense last season

You would normally loan a player to a team lower than yourself, can you see CMW going into the non league system for game time ?

I can't myself.

When Sol Campbell came to BP to do a program on discrimination the clip I saw was KC with Sol and CMW nearby, KC said this lad`s got everything we just have to put it in the right order then laughed ,as did CMW - so not sure his face doesn`t fit AND he`s just young still.

Think he lost a bit of confidence under Kav as he was a really good player when he first arrived , but because we were fighting fires all last season Curle had to get a strong personality in there and yeah he had slipped up once or twice to be fair. CMW that is.

Wonder who coached the prison team. Should get him in he's obviously better than Kav and Keith.

We will start with a back 3, can't see him playing 2 left footers in a back 3 so he will need to dislodge Grainger from the left sided slot of the 3. (in a back 3 the central one will often find himself on the right) ....which in itself you think so what but most left sided central defenders will have played all their lives as the one on the left. Seen one or two try it on the right and they seem to get their body positions all mixed up.

Other thing with a 3 is that one needs to be the head on the stick.....neither of them are dominant in the air.

I think everyone wants to see that great player that is in there come out consistently but you can't keep giving players chance after chance. I think CMW struggles with concentration and work rate. He thought he's better than what he actually is and I suspect when he has a good game it goes to his head when he has had game he probably beats himself up over it.

I agree with a lot of people; confidence is a huge thing for a lad like CMW but it's crunch time for him. We can't carry players anymore thats what got us in this mess. If he does not pull out a great performances soon then out he'll go. It may be too late already? I'd prefer it to be a loan deal first to see how it gets on. I don't think this has anything to do with KC this is about Courtney sorting it out himself, probably growing up a bit - he isn't owed a career in the game he has to earn it at every level. That was the problem before Curle and it's the same issue now.

I'd love him to do it! He could be the best young defender in this league easy! But potential doesn't count for anything now he has to prove it every match.

Another player who leaves us and goes on to achieve great things. Needs to prove he can do it this season, with our defence he has the chance to shine
