After how many games will this happen?

If he gets us into the play offs then he deserves a new deal if not then no new deal. A new deal before Christmas would be rediculous, given the results and standard football we achieved last year.

Aye, why 5 games? Especially as Plymouth are the only fancied team we've met by then. Wait until March or April and see how we are doing. Top half fair enough, bottom half thank you for all you have done

Why give a manager a new contract before the end of the season at our level ? Why not wait till end of season?

A lot of the work for the next season gets done before the end of the current one, too.

The manager has the major say in which players are kept on and who isn't going to be offered a contract. Hard to do that when you're not sure if you're going to be there yourself.

Keith is contracted until the end of the season lets see where we are when he's got 2-3 months left and decide then.

Sadly it will probably be a couple of wins in early September and a contract extension till July 2017.....

Well, I might be alone in thinking this, but I reckon last season before Curle took on the job we were absolute certainties to go out of the league. I think if Kavanagh (nice bloke though he seemed) could well have had us relegated with a good month to spare. We had players with absolutely no confidence playing terrible football and losing it as soon as the opposition scored. There was no fight, no togetherness, no hope at all.

The job Curle did, for me, was excellent, he turned the players round. Granted he was lucky with Dempsey coming through and a couple of other things, but he managed the job comfortably in the end. He kept us in the division.

So, I don't really know what his brief is this year, but if he looks like achieving it, I would be giving him a new contract by Christmas.

I think it is very ironic but I believe the board should be giving serious consideration to extending KC's contract as well as tying Lee Dykes into a longer term deal if possible.

I know it is very early days and all that but we have seen an excellent summer of recruitment and clear signs that KC wants to play entertaining football where we score goals. KC must be doing something right to motivate Jabo to perform as he is doing. How would fans feel if KC gets an approach from another club? I personally think his transformation here even this early in the season will have attracted the notice of other chairmen and agents. Would you trust AJ and JN to get it right with another appointment? I wouldn't.

Before pre-season, like the rest of you I thought the idea would have been ludicrous. After Blyth I thought there were clear signs of something positive happening and I warmed to KC. Now I've seen enough to believe that KC together with Lee Dykes and Simon Tracey are taking the club in the right direction and we should protect ourselves from KC being poached and the club returning to square one.

I think a new contract by Christmas at the latest is a must.

Bloody hell talk about getting carried away it's not two minutes since people were calling for his head. We have drawn two games yes we are playing better but it's far too early to be talking about contract extensions, let's see how the season progresses. Let's face it two defeats in next two games and people will be screaming for changes and the honeymoon will be over.

Definitely appears to be going in right direction tho, got his own squad put together and playing good football and scoring goals!
What more could you ask for?

Curle has made us worse. Kavanagh signed all these class players who fast became fan favourites, but this idiot Curle thinks they aren't good enough and has either got rid of them or won't play them and has them on the transfer list. What a f-ing clown!

Curle will have been told pre-season what is expected of him in terms of league position.

If he meets it - new contract
If he doesn't - byebye

Whether you are pro or anti Curle, his future will be decided based on this criteria alone. How good he has to do will have been decided by the custodians, and we all know what an ambitious bunch they are...

Manager contract cannot be done until Billionaire is in place. Sensible business decision.
