York, hands down for me especially if you like the ale. It depends what you're looking for,if you like popping pills and going to a night club which i don't think you do then a City will be more you're choice but if you like old style pubs,good beer,good crack and a perve then York is for you.

Sheffield. Not too fussed on nights out anymore, most places just play crap music and charge way over the top for drinks. If I lived in Sheff I would probably be out every weekend. Personally I prefer 50s/60s music to the rubbish in the charts now, and there's plenty of places that play it. The Universitys teach a lot of nursing and teaching, thus meaning most of the students are female. I have never gone for a night out there and not pulled.
