Last night was the first game I have attended this season, In seasons gone by I would usually have gone to a few freiendlys in pre season but due to a busy summer I wasnt able to. I was suprised and impressed with the peformance last night. I cant believe how much the team has changed over the summer. The new formation, tactics and signings have alll seem to have come togeather well.

We have to give Curle and his backroom staff a bit of credit, He has brought in his own players and got them playing the best football I have seen at Brunton Park for years. The players he has brought in seem to hungry and wanting to play for the club, I was very impressed with Heny, Jabo, Raynes, ETC. If we can continue to play like that all season, I can see it being a very enjoyable season to watch, Something we have not had for several seasons.

Hopefully if performances continue we will get those stay away fans back and start to get crowds like we had 5-6 seasons ago. And push on to finish high in the table. I would advise any fan of the club who has stopped coming over the last few years to come back and see the new brand of football played by Carlisle United as I for one feel a bit of excitment in watch my team again.

Given the title of your thread, I thought that our custodians had driven off down the M6 never to be seen again. Then we really would have a new Carlisle United.

For Christ sake!! Does every thread HAVE to have somebody having a pop at the board, we got a very good result against a decent Chesterfield team last night, can we please have at least a little bit of positivity?

Yeah, lay off the board. Thanks to them successfully dropping us so far below Chesterfield in the league pyramid under their tenure - we've been able to experience a real life giant killing.

Might not have happened otherwise.

Strangely enough it might have as well, but we'll never know will we, we could be where Stockport County are now, or Halifax Town or Wrexham or Grimsby or even Tranmmere. How do you know it was going to be soooo much better under anybody else?

Because there is absolutely nobody out there more useless at running a football club than John Nixon.

No matter what you think of the board you still support carlisle United. I will continue to go even though I am hoping for a new owner.

Week in week out I argue with people from carlisle who wear their Liverpool and Man u tops with pride even though their match day experience is a trip down to the local pub!!
The response you get is carlisle are **** why would I watch them? My response is England are **** but that's where I'm from.
As soon as Carlisle are in the limelight out comes the carlisle shirt they bought 10 years ago. I can see some changes with Phil king and marketing but it takes time. At least the board have acknowledged that the club needs a new modern outlook. In my opinion gates mainly dropped over the few years due to money been tight and matches available on Sky/Bt. The armchair supporters group is getting bigger!!!

Nope. These awful twunts shouldn't be allowed to forget how they have almost destroyed the club and how they have deliberately blocked positive investment for purely egotistical reasons and invented an imaginary billionaire in a pathetic attempt to cover up their actions.

They will be hoping that a decent season will make things more comfortable for them. Let's not give them what they want.

Mikercufc - At least the board have acknowledged that the club needs a new modern outlook.

I think you mean Andrew Lapping acknowledged it and that they stole his ideas. Not one has come from Nixon et al.
