Not complaining about QPR away, but thought how they did the draw was absolutely crap.

Unseeded teams were drawn H/A first (not live), so before the draw even took place we knew CUFC were away from home. They then filled all the blanks with the seeded teams.

Crap draw. Lucky to get 6000 there. Nothing to get excited about really.
I went there back in the 90s in the same comp. 900 Carlisle fans there that tues night. A great effort. Doubt so many will bother this time.
I reckon we will give them a game though.

Nothing wrong with it, Wazza. Had a decent chance of drawing a 'biggish' club this way. As it happens tho we got QPR.

Liked the seeding, certainly generated more interest on here I would say and amongst all Carlisle and lower league fans. Know a few Northampton who got Newcastle away who are chuffed, short time to plan and get days off etc though.

Why should teams be seeded, it's not Wimbledon, stick all the balls in the bag draw them out at the same time, as soon as I found out we were away the excitement evaporated, no chance of Newcastle, Everton, Sunderland at BP.

There again they would probably play their reserves.

Not the best draw. When we're there last time, 2010? Hoped for better

Personally I find the competition needless now as well mind, maybe something like League 2 must play in first round v a Premier League would generate more interest and make more cash but not 100% sure.

Personally I like the seeding. Wouldn't work with the FA cup but its a good idea for the LC. Who cares about a second round tie against L1-L2 opposition? Its not like were going to win the thing, its only purpose for us is to make some extra cash and provide fans with the chance of a decent match against a 'big' team. More chance of that with the seeding.

Think the seedings are a good idea from a smaller teams point of view, but really i would prefer it to be a free for all so the chance of having different teams in the latter stages.

I also think the 1st few rounds should be regionalised, probably the first 2, so longs trips on a tuesday night are rarer, making it easier for fans with travel/work

We all got excited by winning the JPT, but deep down knew it was basically teams at our level, include Championship teams and it would count for a bit more in my book.

I remember the last time we played them seven years ago (can't believe it's that long ago) and Emmanuel Ledesma scored the best individual hat-trick that night I've ever seen. Don't think I'll be going this time.

We've nothing to lose so may as well just go for it.

I'm with fellow posters about the way the draw came about. Surely the fairest way to do a draw is shove everyone in a bag at the same time and draw them out in order like the FA Cup. This way it is favoured towards the clubs in the top two divisions.

I think the predraw for unseeded teams is stupid and if not live not transparent.

You just have 2 bags one with unseeded teams, the other the seeded teams. You then decide whether the first tie has seeded or unseeded at home.

Lets suppose the first tie is to be an unseeded team at home. You pick out an unseeded team from that bag then the away seeded team from their bag. For the next tie you go to the seeded bag first as they are at home and then pick the unseeded ( away ) team and continue to alternate like that. Transparent and I would also maintain that it adds to the drama.

Take it they didn't draw the non seeded sides before the draw because of the additional time at Doncaster or anything?

Would be nice if the club could donate something to reduce the cost of coaches down to the game, and get a big following there.
