Young lad from Cockermouth signed for City. We'll only get £9 k under present rules but more if he makes the grade. Mind you he's only 12!
Must be some set up at Etihad, he'll be gan to a private school there for next four years.

It's some opportunity but can't keep thinking that the kid will miss his childhood and growing up ,it's like he is in a cocoon from the age of 12.

True. He is just part of their factory production line now. Far too young to be sent away from home no matter how flash it is.

It certainly a big move for a young lad but Allan Moore says he's one of the best young keepers he's seen so sounds like he's every chance. Interesting he's called Trafford. Young Trafford at the moment!

If he was my lad I'd be keen for him to go. You only live once and think of the dosh he'll be earning in a few years. B)

Also more chance of keeping him on straight and narrow I would have thought away from mean streets of Cockermouth.

Agreed if it was my son I'd feel it was an offer not to be missed.

From a selfish point of view, I'd only like my boy to play for CUFC, that would be a dream come true. Reality of it is tho, without this academy type set up there's a lot more chance of him slipping by the by when he turns 14 and discovers beer and women etc and looses interest!

If I had a boy I'd rather be played for City so he could pay my mortgage off when he was 16 and I could retire when he was 20. Leaving it a bit late to fully benefit now mind. How can you negate the effects of the pill?
