Totally agree with the OP. They weathered the 'storm' in the summer, online petitions and a handful of Season Ticket refunds. Only thing left was for folk to vote with their feet and hit them in their pockets. Not happened. Can't be that many folk who want rid of them then perhaps.

6000 is a vote of confidence for our custodians.

Are people seriously complaining because fans turned up to our first home game of the season?

Crunch, and everyone else

Looking at the pre match attendance figures predicted on this forum, did anyone predict over 6000?

I was shocked and pleased with today's attendance. Is this board representative of the CUFC fans, or is AJ right in saying that the silent majority are backing the current owners?

It is very admirable to have principles, it is also very stupid to cut your nose off to spite your face.

If you refuse to feed the coffers of companies with dubious ownership that are just interested in ripping you off, you would have to live with no gas or electric, certainly no

sattelite television and you wouldn't shop at supermarkets. Not to mention banks.

You would end up living in a yurt in the Brecon Beacons living off mushrooms and road kill.

If the team continue to play as they are doing at the moment the only mugs are the abstainers for missing some excellent football.
We all hate the evil 2 but the players deserve the fans backing why cut off your nose to spite your face.

Wind your neck in! We drew at home to Cambridge ffs.

With being next door at the Rugby Club, so I get to speak to a lot of United fans I have to say there is very little negativity towards Mr Nixon and Mr Jenkins. A few have voiced one or two concerns about the validity of any billionaire, but most seem to appreciate the work that they have done, (especially Mr Jenkins, despite the results and performances over recent years). And if this mirrors the general attitude then maybe Jenkins is right, the silent majority are still right behind them.

Only time will tell how good a result this was today but let's not get too carried away with a draw at home. I hope it provides the launch pad for a great season but as I say only time will tell. As for the evil twosome I sincerely believe the club would be better without them and I hope to see them depart very soon.

A dark day - the custodians have been given the vote of confidence by the fans, and normal business has well and truly resumed.

I anticipate many many years at L2 level battling with the giants of the game like Accrington and Morecambe to look forward to. Divided clubs never achieve.

Did they announce the gate - it`s not on the OS- been trying to find out what the exact number was.

I think (imho) that the majority of todays crowd would prefer a change at the top. In reality though most of us will support the team whoever is in charge, for me thats what being a Carlisle fan is all about.
I also feel that slating people for going, calling them mugs or worse still happy clappers, will in the end backfire on the people who make these statements.
Nobody like being looked down on for supporting their team and in a strange way the coments may in fact work in favour of the current owners as people get cheesed of with the constant snipeing
Those who desperately want a change at the top need to come up with a different strategy as the current one runs the risk of pi****g people off.
Unless of course thats the plan!

Making disparaging remarks about fans who decide to go along and support the team ( despite shenanigans off the field ) is just childish and petty.

For those choosing not to go for a variety of reasons, fair enough, they make their choice.

This is my 63rd season supporting the team. Note I say team. I've seen plenty of comings and goings, good times and bad. However it is my home town club and I'll always support the team, whatever is happening off the field.

I got my first season ticket in 1974 and as long as I am able will continue to support the team as best I can. I've moaned about plenty over the years regarding the club but the ups and downs go with supporting a football team, whatever the level.

I am not a mug and resent being labelled as one.

TBH 1954 I did not take the post as representing us as mugs, a such . just a silly childish wind up and I don't know where the poster's mind is. Way off kilter . Sad for him/her

Alright folks. A statement in frustration more than anything else. I have full respect for blues fans up and down the country for their support for our great club.

Nevertheless, perhaps idealogically and unrealistically, I thought that the fans had the opportunity and power to drive away our current owners from the club, which would then have potentially led to a brighter future and perhaps, just perhaps, one day, Utd could have reached their full potential as a club. Dreamland stuff - I know. Today, however, they were given a huge vote of confidence.

The owners have not been given "a huge vote of confidence" - that would be selling 5,000+ season tickets, or having crowds of 10,000 (like we did v Hartlepool when Knighton finally went).
Some Carlisle supporters went to a Carlisle match. It's what Carlisle supporters do, when they can.
