I think it was touted as around 4200 average gates, and being knocked out in the first round of all the cups?

A conservative estimate at the Liverpool game, would rake in about £300,000 for the club, from the gate receipts.

Whether our attendances at Brunton Park are truly factual or not, remains to be seen, but £300,000 would equate to allow the clubs average attendances being around 900 people shorter than predicted, and still "break even." In other words, average gates of 3400 and the club will be ok. In other words, Nixon and Jenkins are going absolutely nowhere. If we do manage average gates of 4200, it would be nice for this "bonus money" to be used to help improve the squad, or facilities for the fans, but I think we all know that is about as likely as hell freezing over.

It'll be interesting to find out out how much the club actually make from the Liverpool game. Not sure it'll be anywhere near 300k once costs and expenses have been deducted

Mike, is the club not in debt? Surely any money should be used to pay that off first? You sound like a Premier League fan with that sort of talk ;)

However, if we have a billionaire on the horizon then spend spend spend...

If attendances of 4,200 has us breaking even then how come we've been making huge losses for the past three seasons? I think you'll find we need to get crowds around the level we've had for the first two home games to be break even or better (although the money from the recent sales of Potts and Dempsey may have been a factor in your guess). If we get £200,000 from the Liverpool game that will be the equivalent of us having around 3 extra lots of matchday income (at 4,200 attendance).

I'm not a finance kind of person, but at one of the roadshows, Suzanne Kidd said she'd worked out they'd need to getting attendances of 4200 to break even. Presumably this takes into account sponsorship, club shop sales etc as well, as well as taking expenditure into account. If we're spending less this season, understandably we'll not need as many fans through the gates to break even. I'll see if I can find any reference to Suzanne's comment. Can't remember whether i heard it at a roadshow, or whether it was in a CUFC article somewhere.

Nobby Blue question - Have Suzanne Kidd & Phil King a remit to run the club within it's means or will we continue to make a massive nett loss as in the last few years under Nixon's stewardship?
SK said she had prepared the forecast for next season working to break even. The forecast based on gates of 4,300 and round 1 of the cups. She said that it was a very difficult industry to predict and every year since she started they had aimed to break even.

Well, I am a finance kind of person, and average league crowds of 4,200 will give us income of around £1.5m.

I think they've factored in the player sales and are only thinking of this current financial year. If that is the case it is incredibly short sighted and is storing up problems going forward. Unless they have Phil King generating all sorts of new advertising, sponsorship and other income streams there is absolutely no way we can get by on that sort of income.

I think you're probably right there with regards factoring in player sales.

No point looking beyond this year Moorlad because next season we'll have a Billionaire owner

If you put the Potts , Dempsey and Liverpool figures together that about 800k of income to come, but its probably a structured deal for the players so let's say an intial cash injection of around 500k , if we don't make a profit this season something has seriously been mismanaged , also think that the Liverpool match might increase intrest ,

Nah mate. We're closer to the "mystery billionaire backs out" statement now. After all we're on a cup run, if we beat the monkey hangers as well there'll be a huge feel good factor, that's the perfect time to put the statement out there.

We'll never find out what the club makes from the Liverpool game. It will be either undisclosed or confidential.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the Dempsey deal was cash upfront.

I have a feeling Nixon going to cash out very soon and he's just been waiting for this chance

There is another thread on here which has the Companies House records all on there. Of real interest to every supporter should be the accounts for June 2014.

Obviously these are abbreviated accounts and do not give full details (because they aren't required to) but even so they make interesting reading. In the 2 years to 30 June 2025 the club has lost £965,000. In the year to 30 June 2025 despite cutting the wages cost by £260,000 the club still made a loss of more than £340,000. Brunton Park is valued at £5.7m and the club owes the two idiots (and their companies) more than it ever owed Fred.

A cut in the wages of that amount would equate to around £5000 a week off the playing budget, I wonder if reducing the playing budget by that much might have had any bearing on our relegation from League 1 in the 2013/14 season. It will be interesting to see how much further we cut in the season just past. However we won't be seeing those accounts this side of Christmas."

I posted this about 3 months ago, check out the losses which were shown in the accounts for those two years, then also check out our attendances for the seasons concerned you may then have some idea why a stated attendance of 4,200 does not make any sense as a break even figure for this football club. If anybody at the club feels that is anywhere near a realistic figure then they need to be telling us just exactly why they think that. Some years ago I said something similar when David Allen was forecasting us getting crowds of over 7,000 just before he left. He was talking through his arse then and she is talking through hers now.

Seriously, if they think this sort of forecasting is going to work, then they and consequently us, have real problems.
