TOPIC: Pulling the pin on Square Pass: The End.

First of all I wish to thank everyone that has supported the Square Pass fund raising platform. We have done some great work, £2312.00 has been successfully raised for our club. The club is extremely grateful for your efforts.

However like our club, Square Pass has to be cost effective, sadly even with the amount of effort I've put in, I've failed.
Square Pass needs only 250-300 regular fans playing the predictor each week. This week we have started off with just 13 fans donating to our clubs. This means that I have to personally cover the cost of the prize money each week, and I'm are not prepared to carry on doing this.

Everyone working at Square Pass doesn't get paid for the work they do. We run this in conjunction with our full time jobs and it’s now at a point that it’s not worth the time, energy and cash to continue.

Therefore GW13 (the end of the accumulator) will be the last. This will allow those that have bought bundles to use them.
As football fans, failure is part of our lives, and it’s something I now have to deal with at Square Pass.

What of the season long comp that has been bought and paid for ?

Not sure bluealf, the sweepstake isn't the issue. But most likely return fans money as that would be the easiest way as there wasn't many that actually paid the £5 for extra teams.

Not sure how these things go when a company goes bust so it will depend what the accountants advise. New part of my life this but Ill keep you informed.

Sorry that sounded harsher than intended after reading it again at a respectable time, I was just trying to name the competition part and couldn't remember what it was called.

A shame that it didn't work out for you, I only had a few bought for bets but was absolutely useless at picking football teams to win games lol

I thought you might have just kept the sweepstake live and then paid out the winner at the end of the season, not that is likely to be me either btw.

The fixtures / odds feed costs money bluealf so I would stop that straight away. So the Sweepstake wouldn't run right without me adding the scores etc which I not prepared to do anymore. I've lost all love of football at the moment. It's a very depressing time for me to be honest.

Understandable square pass, sorry it's not worked out but thanks for all your work in putting this on

In all seriousness, it's never nice when a venture doesn't take off especially one where there was clearly passion and a lot of work was obviously put in. You're probably doing the right thing though, because no way should you be funding this out of your own pocket with no hope of covering your losses.

Chin up, mate. Enjoyed playing SquarePass. Gutted for you it hasn't worked out. Shame too many people took the piss, only entering with the free credits, instead of chucking a few quid in each week.

No worries, just been like that since Monday - like you say nobody is full time so a lot of stuff has been missed at times.

I also think the odds feed lot took you for granted to be honest, seen plenty of matches with no odds changed which should have been but they probably also saw you weren't running a betting firm so put you on priority Z.

Why has markbain scored 33600 on week 4 but has 67200 in the accumulator (double amount exactly).
Why has Porter scored 12000 on week 4 but has 24000 in the accumulator (again double amount exactly).
