Bit of a squad number leak there as well. Anderton going from 34 to 3.

Their recruiting and announcing coaching staff but not players don't get that, we can barely put out a team and in theory the season could start in a matter of weeks.

It's time the EFL stopped peeing about and made some decisions so we can get back to supporting our teams.

If they were waiting until August to officially sign players to avoid paying them July wages, then I really don’t understand why the club aren’t announcing them today. Especially when it’s quite common knowledge that we have new players in the building already.

Compare with Crawley Town as an example, they’ve had a steady build up through the week on their Social Media for a ‘Super Saturday’ today - Unveiled 3 signings and their new Home Kit.

The club as ever are clueless when trying to promote the approaching season why all the secrecy at this point.

Looking at the current squad list I could honestly say I wouldn't recognise any of them in the street. That's not a criticism, I think we have done well to avoid expensive contracts and we have a young squad to which we can add experience. I think it's too early to try and build excitement as there is still so much uncertainty. Overall though I think we are in a very good place in these difficult circumstances.

Even Morecambe announcing players. Hope we see a least 1 tomorrow. One suggestion for no announcements is possibly the new players haven’t signed a contract so they could be poached if it goes public.

Christ what are folk crying for?! Think some of yous need to find yourselves a girlfriend, fretting over Carlisle all summer isn’t healthy. Signings will come, probably Monday, never known the club to make announcements over the weekend regarding contracts etc even in the off season!

Maybe you should rethink the need to come on a football forum to moan about people moaning about football.

The fact that cufc94 does not get the irony in claiming the people posting on here need to get a life . Which in facts just shows that yes so sad that he comes onto a football forum to criticise people for talking about football.

It’s clear we’ve signed some players, we don’t want to announce them yet for whatever reason, but it will come. There’s 6/7 weeks or whatever it is till the new season, plenty of time for us to pull a squad together. No doubt if we’d announced these players last week the same folk would be booting off because we didn’t have the business nous to wait until August. I guess there will be some folk who the club will never be able to make happy.

Sounds as though you're quite content to defend the way the club's been mismanaged by the reluctant owners. That's you're choice but don't accuse me or many other fans for not supporting them

Not at all, not sure about you but I’m just discussing these current signings. Just pointing out there’s no reason to start panicking and it sounds like you’re just using it as a stick to beat the club with which I think is unjust. Signings will come (probably tomorrow) and we will have a squad for the coming season. I just don’t understand the mass panic is all.

It's not panic as far as I'm concerned just fed up with the way they're running the club. If you're happy I feel you're in the minority

If you read through my posts you’ll see I’ve not once said that I’m happy with how the clubs run. But I’m also not one of those fans that when the club makes a decision I’ll nitpick for something to moan about. It’s clear from numerous interviews over past couple of days that we’ve made signings and haven’t announced them yet for whatever reason. But going back to my earlier point you can guarantee if we’d signed these players in July, some people would be up in arms that we’d be having to pay them for doing bugger all. Like I say, there’s just no pleasing some folk.

To be fair the owners make it very easy for the fans to have something to moan about.

There are probably 5 weeks to the first (cup) game, less than 6 to the first league game. So friendlies in two or three weeks.
Genuine quetion - if these players are definitely signed as you say, why do you think they have not been announced by the club and why are we takimg a different approach to most of the other teams when we have only 8 or so senior players?

I would assume they’ve not been announced in July due to contracts not being signed/potential hijacking of deals etc, guessing they will be announced soon (not sure why they haven’t been announced this weekend but a few days doesn’t make much difference imo). If they announcements aren’t made in the next few days then I’m happy to eat my words and apologise, but I’m expecting them the next few days. Hope you're right (and probably are) but just another example of tin pot practices by the club and board. Seems really odd to be approaching so close to the season without having anywhere near a full squad.
Of those other teams who have made any signings, I would be surprised if any have as few as senior professionals as we do.
And you would not need to apolgise (its a football forum)!

Couple of good names in there Bumble..I would`nt mind John Ruddy in goal and Chris Wood at centre forward....although Sean Teal may have lost a yard of pace,having said that he``d still be better than Byron Webster.

Time will tell. Other than Mike Jones their signings are quite unknown at this level. I can’t say I’ve looked at any of their signings and thought wow I wish we had him.

what will be our budget this year. Wage cap is 1.25 million pounds. i think it will be less than a million. Does this include our coaches.

will players and coaches be expected to take a wage cut during the season.

100% with CUFC94 on this one, some folk are that used to complaining about the club that they are now in the habit of scrutinising everything the club do to find a fault - even if there’s not one there.

Just because someone dare stick up for the club on a certain issue, he/she is labelled as someone who’s happy with how the club is ran - grow up ffs.

The club obviously chose not to announce any new signings until August, for what reason I don’t know, but does it really matter? 4 days later they’ve announced half a dozen and all the flappers and serial complainers are looking a tad silly. What’s next to complain about? The standard of friendlies lined up? Why no Real Madrid? The new kit being launched on a Friday instead of a Thursday? Chris Beech’s choice of training attire on the club pics?

I'm relatively satisfied with the signings we've made so far.

On paper we've got a decent looking, balanced defence with cover in every position. Loads of development potential and players hungry to push on.

Also upfront we have a few options and we should pose some sort of threat in the penalty area.

I'm not worried about the keeper positions, the main gap in the squad at the minute is a couple of players in the middle of the park with a bit of flair / creativity. Beech reckoned Devine's a defensive midfielder who will let our box to box players get forward, but we look a little thin in that department.

There's a question mark about Guy's fitness, Riley is untested and has been playing as a full-back and Mellish is still vastly inexperienced in this role. It's by no means time to panic, but we definitely need a touch more expierence and a bit of guile added to the mix in the middle of the park.

There's plenty of time to sort this before the season however - and we're in a strong position overall compared with most other teams at our level.
