I went past the club today and the fixtures board hasn’t been updated, no excuse could be used to advertise I Follow.

Is there any influence from the trust/cusg to ban members from the messageboard?

Obviously it’s up to each group whether they want to ban a member that fails to abide by their terms, as long as not discriminatory.

But there’s been rumours a messageboard member has been banned from here after pressure from a cusg member in a meeting?

Can this be confirmed or denied and is there a membership policy that messageboarders have to abide by for the messageboard to attend cusg?

I’m not commenting on actual posts this poster has posted as I don’t agree with some also just whether the poster was banned due to the above.

No. Just like we wouldn’t do similar to say CUSAT about one of their travellers or complain about a London Branch member playing up in a pub for example.

We have one ban in place at present. It’s for a spammer from Asia - We had an influx of Thai folk registering and attempting to post in the early hours for a month or so! See attached Pic:

We attend CUSG under the Group Constitution, same as all other Attendees (See attached link).

That’s fine: However the poster in question, NS, had his trust membership cancelled withdrawn because of his political, social and racial views. Now I don’t agree with NS on these things at all, however he’s entitled to his view. The trust have their membership policy and if they want to end someone’s membership there within their rights, as long as it’s not discriminatory. No issue with the trust on this.

However I’ve heard from a couple of people that NS name was mentioned in a cusg meeting in relation to the trust cancelling his membership, this may be against GDPR but I’ve also heard that a trust member who attends cusg tried to persuade the MB to ban NS and in turn stop the messageboard being a member of cusg.

NS can’t login, due to the attached error, if his not banned can you liase with him to get reinstated?

For the record I’m not up NS arse, he came to me to see if there was an issue with logging into the site. I don’t like his racial, far political views at all but shouldn’t be a reason to be banned from here as it hasn’t before.

What CUOSC do with their Members is entirely their remit.

Only the Mods of TCN decide who is banned on here. As shown yesterday, we only have one ban in place at present.

We’ve no idea if somebody tried to get us removed from CUSG, it’s not been raised with ourselves!

I still can’t find his previous posting history, there was a previous post I wanted to read regarding EWM that doesn’t appear to be there anymore.

Can you confirm if his posting history has been removed or am I not searching right?

Something odd has gone on and it’s odd that NS posts have been removed. Of course delete any that break rules but all of them?

I don’t know for sure but....

The trust did withdraw NS trust membership, that’s a fact.

I’ve though heard the same thing that some members of cusg wanted NS banned from here and could have ramifications for the MB to attend.

The fact that NS can’t login and his posts have gone makes me think there’s some truth somewhere in it.

What my opinion, has happened is.

The trust and FSA are very heavy into diversity this year. The trust already put a trust member through diversity training via the club.

The trust obviously didn’t like some of the stuff NS was saying on here and therefore withdrew his membership.

But some of cusg members obviously wanted him banned from the messageboard or to stop him logging in. I think it’s obvious somethings been said at the cusg meeting that’s had the effect of stopping NS logging in and expunged his posting history.

This then would cause an issue with the messsgeboards independenace as it’ll have outside interference in order for the reps to attend cusg.

We’ve no idea who this ‘CUSG member’ is, but they’re talking a lot of nonsense. We’ve never had our attendance at CUSG threatened to the best of our knowledge.

Regarding NS, we hadn’t noticed his posts had ‘disappeared’. We don’t spend our time looking through historical posts. We’ll look into it.

This will be the last we’ll post on this thread about it, as it was meant to be for the meeting held on Monday.

Well that's rather strange as at least one of the Mods on here is fully aware that NS has been unable to log in and that his postings have gone awol and has been since July!

But I.ll await your looking into it with great interest.

I can account for the 1st one I can’t view any of his posts and he can’t login.

The 2nd is word of mouth, again odd 2 separate people say the same thing.

It’s odd that you won’t comment further, something has happened that you’re not saying.

FFS Mullen I’m sure if Barry’s that bothered he’d contact the mods himself. I’m not sure what business it is of anyone other than the mods and Barry.

Richard, I have been to all the CUSG meetings for the last year, both those held at Brunton Park and those held on ZOOM.

I can say, hand on heart, that I cannot remember Northern Soul's name ever being mentioned in a meeting.

I can also say if anyone at a CUSG meeting was told to remove someone from their group, I would speak up and ask for it to be minuted and I would walk out of the meeting.

The whole ethos of CUSG is that individual groups with their own views and ways of doing things come together to try and help Carlisle United. If any group tried to interfere with how another group was run, then CUSG would quickly unravel and very soon fall apart.

I don't know who your sources are, whether they are wind up merchants, or something more sinister but I am happy to put my head over the parapet to say you have the wrong end of the stick.

It could have been done outside of the meeting, before or after.

Do you not find it odd that after the trust withdrew NS membership his posts suddenly disappeared from here and can no longer log in.

I haven’t got the wrong end of the stick as I haven’t got any stock, I just asked the question and could only prove 1 point.
