Former Carlisle youth goalie keep clean sheet on his league debut yesterday for Grimsby whilst on loan from Man Utd. May well be starting against us next week.

That's because appearances for the U14's Academy team aren't counted when it comes to a Players Bio!

He's been recalled from Grimsby today by Man Utd due to one or more injuries in the three keepers normally ahead of him.

What a joke that is, So Grimsby now can't sign a keeper? 40 year old Andy Warrington is signed on as a player so i doubt the league will give them special dispensation to sign one.

Fancied Grimsby for the play-offs but losing Henderson & Bogle in the same week will be tough.

They let Sam Johnstone stay out on loan at Villa.

Bit of a blow to them that. I thought once you were out on loan to another league club you couldnt be recalled under the new rules. Obviously im wrong.

I dont fully understand the rules of the loan system.

If we sign a loan player in January we have to kee[ him for 6 months meaning we are paying his summer holidays?

In Grimsby's case can they not sign an emergency loan like we did with Jimmy Glass?

Yet premier league teams can recall at any time?

Not only do I think Premier League teams shoud pay the full wages while their young players are on loan to lower league teams; I think they should be paying us for looking after them and giving them competitive experience!

There is no emergency loan window any more. That was scrapped at the start of this season. However there is a transition period, which allows clubs to sign an emergency goalkeeper on loan providing they haven't got a senior goalkeeper that's made more than 5 first team apps.

Clubs are allowed to recall goalkeepers from loan if they're unable to field 2 fit goalkeepers in their match day squad - this doesn't seem to fit with the Man Utd situation however, maybe it's slightly different for the Premier League?

No. Will be the last game, Otherwise you would just terminate the loan deal after that last game.

He was superb against us and was arguably the best player I saw at Brunton Park last season, Geroge Waring aside.

from what i've heard there's a host of sell-ons, mostly to do with man u first team appearances, culminating if he plays for England we get a million

I thought he left under the EPPP. If so, it was a fixed fee, no add-ons.

£3,000 for each year at the club age 9-11 = £12,000
£12,500 for each year at the club age 12-16 = £25,000
Total compensation = £37,000

edit to add - Had he made any first team appearances there would have been more compensation, £1,000 for each League 1 match, £500 for each League 2 match
