Standard of L2, isn’t great, should be the aim every season

Deffo promotion anything else is total failure. Its gone beyond embarrassing now been stuck in this league while lesser clubs by pass us.

How many seasons have we been in L2 now, seven?

It's an abysmal record given our level of actual and potential support, (in normal times).

And there's a recurring theme; a decent first half of the season followed by a disastrous run in and the selling of young homegrown talent before those players have had a chance to contribute to a promotion push.

As far as I can see McCarron and Galloway haven't kicked a ball in any meaningful competitive match. Wouldn't it have been better for the club and those players to have signed them up for at least three seasons before considering letting them move to another club?

You never know, a successful team might actually generate more gate income, and proven young players, who have a couple of seasons under their belt and have a promotion on their C.V.s might attract higher transfer fees.

Several times at Christmas we have been well placed to push for promotion, only for the wheels to fall off in dramatic fashion.

As the lesser teams push on post Christmas, strengthen and go for it, we always take the opposite approach.

Can we please get out of this habit.............

I would say 7/8th would constitute a good season. An improvement on last year as we build for the future.

7th or above would be good.

But success is winning something, whether that be automatic promotion or the playoffs. So whilst 4th to 7th would be a good 46 game season, it would only become success if we won the following 3 playoff games.

Great post. But the chosen route is the easy way out for the club and the players. Both club and players should be backing themselves. Think Watkins and Ampadu at Exeter. We wouldn't have to sell them for three and six then either.

It has to be promotion but what we want and what we will get will be two different things.

We should be happy finishing tenth remember. When you have a Coach who his happy with that then you've got a big problem. The Horsemen would be delighted of course.
