With players wages right down and what we paid for Kennedy and Hope to sit on the bench and earn 80, 000 a year. Those days are over. What do you think is the new wag structure now..

Who is now Carlisle's highest paid player. Heard Jack Armer and some youngster on 400-500 quid a week on the lower end.

I cant mate. I havent got a clue what they get paid apart from what Beech said when Phillips was comparing his and Curles teams. He said in terms of budget his team is way ahead comparatively.

cannot see a player on more than 60,000 a year...

I think Beech will stick around as he would want something solid on his cv.

I can see Beech is on less than Curle by at least half and he might end up out of a job by January.

I think Kayode could be on the most as we will have to contribute to his wages.

Tanner should be on the most based on form. I would go for Guy who will be on 50 grand.

Dixon and Charters will be on minumum wage.

I have heard but Beech and Skelton get paid peanuts.

If any Carlisle players are paying 40% tax I’d be shocked They are on a contract that states if you play well and we get a good offer you can go and what’s wrong with that business model

The stuff on this thread looks like pure speculation and hearsay, unless they work in the pay office, which let's face it, is doubtful.

Graemhud, I don’t know whether the link you posted is accurate because it still had the promoted teams from last year in Division 2. And for example, Swindon’s recorded highest paid player was Eoin Doyle at £4.3k per week (31 years old) and he was also recorded as Bolton’s second highest earner at £3.3k (32 years old). It could be that Swindon’s records had not been updated and Covid will undoubtedly had an impact on players salaries. Regardless I found it an interesting read.

I have looked at all the teams in our division and often teams have just a few players who are paid far more than the rest of the squad.
A notable exception is Salford who have a playing budget of £2,907,060 compared to ours of £1,536,000 - almost twice as much.
Salford have 10 players receiving a salary of £2.5k or more with the top earner receiving £5.5k.
They are to top spenders in our Division followed by Colchester, Tranmere, Bolton, Mansfield, and Bradford City all of whom have a budget of over £2m.

Carlisle United’s budget is 15th highest out of 24 with Morecambe, Barrow and Harrogate the lowest with the latter two just over £1m.
It is interesting that Newport County’s budget is one of the lowest at £1,288,040 with their top earners, by far, being ex- Blues Jamie Proctor and Jamie Devitt on £2.1k.

Presuming those listed are basic salaries there is the bonus system to consider and that could be significant, as Carlisle United have found to their detriment in the past. So, it would be financially beneficial playing for a successful team, like Carlisle United, who have won 11 games as opposed to a struggling team like Bradford City who have won only 4 games. And most importantly playing for a club that looks after your interests and continues to pay you every month.

Aye, yours might be OK. It was rather the speculation based on inaccurate articles that I was referring to. Peace.

another questions....should all salaries be disclosed like they do in other leagues including MLS.

My estimation is carlisle budget could be around 1-1.2 million. Does that include the coaching budget too.

Wonder who's on 5.5k at Salford? They've no big names as far as I know.

Take your pick with the Salford squad...

Darron Gibson - premier league and international footballer just 3yrs ago
Tom Clarke - signed from Preston where he was captain
James Wilson - ex Man Utd and Aberdeen
Richie Towell - reportedly on a big wage at Rotherham when on loan from PL
Jason Lowe - ex Blackburn
George Boyd - spent the majority of his career in PL and Championship, also a full international

Don’t think it’ll be Henderson though, 35 year old and spent the majority of his career in the lower leagues.
