Will Byron Webster go down as one of the worst players of recent times for us?

It got to the point where on here we were guessing the minute that he would make a gaff and cost us a goal, he has obviously had a decent career before us but his time with us must go down as a disaster.

He had a pretty good reputation pre injury and Scunthorpe, Presley’s insisting on playing out from the back didn’t help. He started to improve towards the end of the season. Still a bombscare mind

What a stupid thing to do, loan a player to a rival.

Anyone remember when Bobby Robson lent a player out who scored against them and cost them Champions League/Europe qualification?

I remember Birmingham lending Mick Ferguson to Coventry around March 1984.
They were both fighting relegation from the top division.
Ferguson scored 3 goals whilst on loan at Coventry, winning games to keep them up, and Birmingham were relegated as a consequence of Coventry's wins!!

You always get that 'I'll show you' moment from a player - look at Jamie Devitt getting the goal on Saturday against the club that let him go and denting their promotion push, there must be loads more examples.

Absolute madness from a manager.

Devitt would have put more points on the board.

Imagine nobody wanting Jamie Devitt - came up here with Newport and was pivotal in their comeback and could have snatched something from certain defeat, then they didn't even want him!

Went to Barrow as they were the only one that rang apparently and he went like a shot because he said that it was nice to feel wanted again.

Remember when some were saying that we actually didn't need him anymore and he would be a waste of a wage that could be spent elsewhere.

I bet Newport's manager was hacked off on the coach home after getting rid of him, especially if it costs them at the end of the season.

He'll still have been getting his wages so McKirdy won't have been that bothered.

I quite liked him and was decent player at times but it sounds like he's a bit of a pain in the arse by all accounts.

Nathan Rooney is a coach at Port Vale now so will know McKirdy quite well I would think.

From the Stoke Sentinel, McKirdy has been allowed by the EFL to rejoin the Port Vale squad after another player had to give up on the season because of injury. McKirdy was only left out of the squad at the end of January to comply with the league rules on squad numbers. That's why he was allowed to train at Leicester City and play a couple of games for their U-23s.

Another player we didn't get enough from was Angelo Balanta who is now scoring regularly for Dagenham and Redbridge after a successful spell at Boreham Wood.

What's going on with Sutton, have they had money pumped into them or something or just a decent set up?

If they are on a shoestring then their manager is doing wonders.

Paddy Madden just signed a 3yr deal at Stockport:

Would have been a good signing us. We were probably outgunned by Stockport's financial clout.

And the fact it’s outside of the transfer window, so players can only move to non league clubs.

A 3 year deal at 31? I guess job security helps explain Paddy’s decision to drop out of the league. County in with a chance of returning to the league, but no guarantee.
