Basically, the longer the Thread (Corona and Politics being good examples), the longer a reply takes to post. On a new Thread, a reply is almost instant.

There’s an issue as well with having two different connections.

If I log on laptop and then an iPad, with old connection open, it freezes everything and sometimes causes multiple posts.

I’ve seen it before on things I’ve made, depending on hosting.

A quick fix, if using mysql, is to set MAX_USER_CONNECTIONS to something like 5. It’s normally 0/1 abs uses the default setting.

Depends if you can change it in the essydiscuss database, may be worth asking them.

Just had a thought. You migrated the forum software from Kunena to EasyDiscuss, could there have been an issue with that migration that's now causing issues with the database? Compatibility issues maybe?

I wanted to see if my response on a small threat was instant like CCU said. If the problem is only happening on large threads I think that suggests something is configured wrong in the database settings like what Mullen said, as opposed to the software itself being fundamentally broken.

I’m still lost with them both, you don’t want to get into UB, so you have a point.

It’s not that it’s not working, it’s just slow - these are the ones that take forever to find/sort.

About the website do the mods have full root access or is it shared hosting? If shared they might not be able to edit database settings.

You can still FTP with shared services.

Been a while since I've used shared hosting but from what I remember there's limits on what you can change and customize.
