Obviously one that’s been rumoured for a while but very pleased to get it sorted. Lots of good reviews and I’m very happy to see that he’s turned down Championship clubs to play regular football at our level, exactly the type of player we need at the club.
I know walker had a history of injuring that area which extended his absence , so although it's bad hopefully it's not as bad , broken collarbone is 6-8 weeks, final weeks can start working on fitness, 2 weeks of on the ball training, possibly 8-10 weeks out
Commentary said if it fixes itself it’ll be about 6wks out. If it requires surgery then a lot longer. Massive shame for the lad and a blow for the team but nothing we can’t overcome with a strong squad.
No question about his potential. Played right back, right wing back. right mid and played on the left too. Good two feet and can pass and cross a ball. What is his best position. Curious what his best position is. Some people say Riley does not play alongside Guy in the defensive midfield role. Could Tanner play defensive midfield.
I would like us to play 3 at the back and push Tanner up the field. Still think he can rwb if armer plays the other side.
He looked excellent at wingback at Cheltenham, but one game isn’t enough to tell the full story. Always looks decent going forward but can leave us exposed when playing in a back 4.
He was flying before being injured, and struggled to regain his consistency in the latter part of the season. As mentioned by others, he’ll have learned a lot this year and will only improve going forward. He’s been a quality bit of business IMO.
I’d be keen to see a 3-5-2 / 5-3-2 whatever you want to call it next season.
It suits Tanner and Armer perfectly and if Anderton is going to stay I think left side of a back 3 would be the only position I’d consider him in. I definitely wouldn’t trust him as 1 of 2 centre halves.
I think we have 2 really good full/wing backs who with the right centre backs playing alongside them will only improve and become very good players.
I think Tanner needs to work more on his 1-1 defending as he gets his distances wrong at times and gets beaten from time to time but going forward he is excellent. I think a lot of that will be due to the fact he played midfield/wing at Utd academy and only moved to full back as a scholar so will have probably missed out on his early schooling.
Armer meanwhile looks the opposite for me and when he's on his game playing on the front foot (2nd half on Saturday as an example) you don't get past him easy however I would like to see him attack more and drive into the opponents box.
Will be interesting to see where these 2 eventually end up as I see Armer as a ball playing CB in a few years time and Tanner as an attacking midfielder and should both get to to a good level, hopefully with us.
