Very disappointing result. Millen has got the ball down, playing 442, playing the players we wanted to see start and we still lost. We created chances, but just couldn’t put them in the net, Young past the post, point blank header at the keeper, Mampala brought down at the end, no penalty given. The only encouragement that can be taken is that if we play like that, we’ll win.
Howard Played pretty well, the scoreline didn’t reflect his performance.
Mellor Looked limited. His defending was reasonable but he couldn’t beat his man going forward so an endless stream of throw ins were won.
MacDonald Best player for me. Very solid but caught out for pace when Harrogate attacked on the counter.
Whelan Did what he was supposed to do, as always. Kept Armstrong quiet.
Dickinson Looked good going forward. Strong, played some decent balls into the box. But dear God, losing that tackle to that wee boy who scored, changed the whole game.
Gibson Another good game for him. Twisted and turned, got in a few shots on target. Looking good at the moment.
Devine Tried but was never able to impose himself. Didn’t get sent off and only his first real game so better than Mellish.
Guy Getting a lot of flack on here but some decent passing and made some space for himself. He needs to look better operating further forward.
Clough Needs to have a serious word with himself. A player of his pedigree should have shone last night. Offered very little for me. Left wing isn’t his position, but
Dickinson was covering the entire left side on his own for most of the night.
Young Energy, effort, passion, getting in good positions. It’ll come if he sticks at it.
Abrahams Jekyll and Hyde. When the opposition has the ball, excellent. He ran miles last night closing down, and did a very good job of it. When we have the ball shocking. We break and Tristram runs next to the defender taking any form of effort out the game for the opposition.
Mampala Just an odd player. Gets possession, beats the full back, lays off the ball, then stays in the corner ! Having said that, ball coming across, who is at the back post every time? Mampala. He seems to almost comically create good chances. About the only dice we haven’t rolled, worth a start with Young.
Fishburn Tries but doesn’t really look good enough for the level yet. Didn’t really trouble anyone.
Charters Came on too late to change the game and fulfilled that expectation.
Difficult to see where Millen goes now. I think he is back to playing Ian Atkins tactics, 4141, and going for the 0 0 draw. At least if he can stem the defeats confidence will build and we’ll get something between now and 1 January. He has been enquiring about players so we need recruits sooner rather than later.
Harrogate are the ultimate plaything team. They brought 84 fans which we get for the Papa Johns. Their owner puts in £1m a year and the manager is the owner’s son. Spitting out the sour grapes though they looked very good last night. Midfield broke very quickly on the counter, the defence was sharp as well. A large number recruited from non league. Impressed with them.
As for the fans, it was disappointing. But we talk about getting in players who are mentally tough. Time for the fans to be tough as well. Get mummy to kiss your scratch better, get up and go again. Its not great football, but the team needs us more than ever. Get down the ground, buy ifollow, support the team. And if we play like that the wins will come. The more money in the kitty, the better January will be.

You have blamed and argued with fans all over the messageboard. Insulting their intelligence, questioning their support, calling out their disillusionment as living in some fantasy land where they don't live in the real world and being dismissive of almost everyone's opinion.
Yes you are correct, teams like Rushden and Diamonds will come and go. And so will Carlisle United. At the moment Carlisle United are going and soon to be gone. I wonder if you might admit you could have been wrong in the future when or if it's too late?
