I’m going to spend some time thinking about what to do next and decompress a bit-off to our house in Mallorca for a bit and the football will be good as they got promoted to La Liga last season.

I think semi retirement will be best for me but I need to keep my brain active.Something usually comes along and I will still be with Hyperdrive in some capacity.

What’s my take on EV?Well the clever bit at Hyperdrive was surrounding myself with high quality automotive people but not taking the company in that direction, simply because there is no margin in OEMs.But the people who work in the sector are first class, drilled in process and used to working within tight supply chains.

I think the EV market is about to go crazy-the biggest drag to date has been the cost of the battery cells which are a disproportionate cost of the vehicle.But cell prices are coming down fast-improved chemistry and mass production.5 years ago, cost per KWh was around $1000-by 2023, we are looking at $100 per kWh-A sensational price reduction, coupled with longer life cells.

Range concerns are falling away too with the improved cell chemistry.

The other thing is the tax relief.New EVs get 100pc tax write off in first year and the benefit in kind is nominal.That is very compelling.

EV will see some casualties.I think car dealerships will largely be made redundant-they make more money off extras and servicing than car sales but EV will kill that market.It’s also all about weight going forwards so I’ve invested in a ceramic brake company called SCE.Worth a look-it’s listed on AIM.

I don't think anything that comes out of that clowns mouth would cause any serious damage.... anyone with half a brain cell knows he is a motor-mouthed buffoon with as much charm as 2 day old diarrhoea, the only reason he is still involved at CU is that it's his bolts and screws that is holding Brunton Park together!
