Anyone we can get of any note is a bonus as far as I'm concerned. Our front 3 have been great, thus far, great movement etc... Actually hopeful for this season, which makes a change.

Only 32 minutes of football on loan at Blackpool last season. Newcastle recalled him as they weren't happy with Blackpool apparently.

Got four goals in five appearances in the Checkatrade last season.

Sorensen was quoted just the other day saying he doesn’t want to go out on loan but it’s up to the manager.

Hope his attitude is right if he does come.

Couple of good goals in these. Defending doesn't look great mind.

He'll get a big shock against League 2 centre halves but he might be a decent signing.

I think us having McKirdy and Thomas could swing a loan deal in our favour. Sorensen looks as if he plays like a classic no.9. He'd love the service our wide men could give him. Sign him then send Hope out on loan could be the deal Holdsworth wants. No wonder Lummy is a bit giddy.

I count 19 goals in 28 games at various levels during 2018-19, which is a great record.

We shouldn’t judge him by his Blackpool loan spell, look at how McKirdy’s turned out despite struggling on loan himself a few months ago.

Some of Holdsworth's comments he made weeks ago make much more sense if we can sign Sorensen. He was adamant that he didn't want to sell Hope but Hope is on a high wage and would not be starting every week if we had Sorensen. Hope also wants to play at a higher level so a loan to Blackpool or whoever could be the perfect solution for everyone.

We would be scuppered on depth though. What if McKirdy gets injured? Then it's either Olufela or Scougall out wide. Depth exists for a reason!

If holdsworth is clever enough there will be a recall clause.


Can only recall in Jan now:

55.1.2 any recall clause requiring the early termination of a Standard Loan can only be included in a full Season Standard Loan and this can only be activated during the Winter Transfer Window

Why would we loan him rather than sell him? There were clubs interested in him earlier in the summer and if he's not going to be part of our first team plans we should sell him and get someone cheaper in for cover.

Not sure Hope would currently be in anybody's first team at the moment, would he? He's a good player but we've got a star in McKirdy and Hope's too expensive to warm the bench.

But who do we get to replace him? This would be really poorly thought out, and exactly the kind of thing we should be avoiding. We have quality, proven depth and if he wants to stay then there's no way we should bin him off to get in some other player that if Thomas or McKirdy gets injured would suddenly become our main choice. If they don't perform then we're already out of promotion for this season given how much our team relies on the wingers for creativity.

We’d be absolutely mad to loan out hope. He’s a proven 10-15 a season player at this level.

I know Pressley thinks the new striker will bag 20 but what if he doesn’t settle? Hopefully he does bag the 20 but it’s best to keep our proven players as well and as mentioned above an injury to Thomas or Mckirdy and we’d be short.

It’s good to have these options. All of a sudden Hope’s place isn’t guaranteed and thats good as competition should keep him, Thomas, Mckirdy etc on their toes.

There seems to be a good vibe building at the moment. Small squad with everyone getting a chance of first team football including a good crop of youngsters for a change.
Players will sense if there is a good chance of being fighting for the top end rather than be in a struggle. If that's the case Hope would be daft to take a chance elsewhere just yet. He will be on good money here, he is saleable if we need to as well.
Hopefully the new lad will add an extra dimension. Exciting season in prospect hopefully.

Pressley said one they thought had gone had come back into focus. Given Sorensen has been China with Newcastle, it’s likely him...

Reading about sorenson he sounds like great things have been expected but so far not materialised. Lets hope it's here it clicks. If not, it's not the end of the world. Olaf and loft have both played well so far. With mckirdy, Thomas and scougall playing just behind the striker the goals are coming from all over. Still think we need another winger and central midfielder. I would still be looking to bring a couple of loans in

After lummy's "bed wetting" excitement last night a small amount of research into north east clubs led me to this guy as the probable signing. Looks good and as long as he's hungry to prove himself he could be a great signing.

Any others just didnt look close enough to first team action to get so excited about.

We will have our full quota of loanees when this lad comes in any more signing will be permanent ones. Anyway unlikely that any more signings will be coming in until Jan that is added to which our own young players who have just signed contracts will also be given a chance.
It looks like it is Sorenson is he the first Danish player we have had.
