Anyone know anything about them, or seen them play much?

Nice to have a steady few young lads signing pro recently.

When Dixon and McCarron were both first years, there wasn’t much to choose between them. In fact, Dixon was more of a team player and more likely to pass to a team mate than try to dribble past a third opponent, which was what McCarron would try. He’s missed this whole season so it’s good that the club is giving him a chance.

Kerr doesn’t always catch the eye. To be fair, the service up to him hasn’t been brilliant and yet he’s scored a decent number of goals so he’s worth taking a punt on.

I didn’t really expect any of the others to be kept on.

Yes, very good.

Papa was a frustrating player to watch. He’s such a big, strong lad and when he gets running with the ball he can be very effective. But he seems to play the game on his heels instead of on his toes so it takes him a while to get up to speed. Also, he has a habit of annoying the referee which would get him nowhere. I expect him now to have a peripatetic existence...

I think he was in the Newcastle Academy system, but not given a YTS at 16. We then took him...

Feel sorry for those lads released at this age, doubtful any will be able to stay in full time football and those that I have seen drop into the likes of the evostik league always struggle for a few years meaning many drop right out of semi pro football completely. Good luck to those lads the real world will be a massive eye opener

Really pleased to hear this news. First time I'd seen him play was on Tuesday.
I thought to begin with the looked a little lightweight but really grew into the game as it wore on.
Playing against bigger and stronger players I thought he put in a decent performance and more than held his own.

Just wanted to wish Josh all the best in his recovery from another ACL injury. Really bad luck for the lad and is going to be a long, hard road for him.

Credit to, to the club and Holdsworth for honouring the contract offer despite it not being signed at the time of the injury. Shows we have some decency left.

Back stronger Josh and go well.
