Border Cars was created by CCU
After a week or so of rumours, seems they’ve ceased trading as of today.

They do Mazda, Kia, Fiat, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Skoda and Ford.

Be a big gap up Kingstown now...

Edit to add:
We have seen on social media over the past few days, speculation regarding Border Cars.

We would like to assure everyone that Border Cars have no connection whatsoever to Border Motor Group who represent Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai and Skoda along with Volkswagen Approved Used under our Lawries name and our Car Deal Supermarket used car name.

We have served the Carlisle, Dumfries and St Boswells areas for nearly 30 years and will do for many years to come.

Thank you for your past and future custom from all the team at Border Motor Group.

Mercs are for the Russians and young drug dealers in Carlisle!! Border cars has been in trouble for ages I'm sure some underhand nonsense has gone on which caused it!! but garages are struggling as a whole with sales way down!

If you are a senior sales type person then this kind of stuff goes with the territory.
When it doesn't work out, I find it hard to feel too much sympathy.
Bit different when you are doing a job that has real value to the community in which you operate , as opposed to trying to rip people off.
However, there will be some junior members of staff who are more likely to suffer as a result and that is the sad part of an affair like this, for me.

I’ve heard of them getting money off someone for a car even after the suppler had already repossessed the cars from the forecourt.

Their biggest mistake was not employing Holdsworth in their show rooms - one hour warranty on all cars applies in the small print.

Some weird stories doing the rounds on this one. The previous accountant was on the fiddle. So they brought in a new guy who was readying the business for sale with a plan to sell off the franchises individually. The new guy told one bank there was no cash so the bank foreclosed on its loan which automatically makes all loans immediately repayable. Owner reckoned he'd clear 4m, now he'll be lucky to get anything

His daughter must be very rich, as she’s miraculously acquired all the stock and reopened in the same premises as Focus Car Store.
