Found an interesting article on the Exeter trusts fund raising efforts, in light of the response from our own trust to the question of raising funds:

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48926872

Seems they have been doing it for years

Previous contributions

Player Years Wages pledged by the fund
James Norwood 2009–11 £20,000 (£10,000 per season)
Callum McNish 2011–12 £15,000
Elliott Chamberlain 2012–14 £33,000 (£18,000 and £15,000)
Graham Cummins 2014–15 £20,000
Joel Grant 2015–16 £30,000
Pierce Sweeney 2016–17 £15,000
Jack Sparkes 2017–2019 To be announced
Noah Smerdon 2019– To be announced

Which makes me wonder why our trust couldn't do something similar, given the previous comments of not being able to fund raise

If their player is sold do they receive the money to reinvest or is that against regulations?

Our trust gave some of the money raised away to charity and had a whip round for the local food bank.
