Fixture for 8k game this season?

Looking at the fixture there is no obvious one for me.

If we leave it till February again we could well be out of the playoff chase.

Allowing 3-4 weeks to promote it I think I'd chose the Oldham match (should win and not too close to xmas) on September 28th.

I would say the crowd of over 10k was a positive and what it showed is what we can achieve with the right Marketing

If we are still in touching distance of the playoffs there could well be 8k for the Bradford match without the promotion.

Other possibilities are Swindon or Morecambe in February if we are close to the playoffs - otherwise pointless.

I must have missed summat, since when did they change the rules that the top 16 qualify for the playoffs?

And giving about 6000 tickets away helped im sure.

Even with the reduced prices it was still the highest gate receipts of the season.

We hardly ever get over 5,000 home fans now.

Brunton Park is a bit like church, for a lot of people going once a twice a year is enough for them.
I think it’s a good idea to try to do an 8k type event at least once a season, just to get extra people coming down.
Some kind of theme, probably family related , would help.

I absolutely hate the fans who moan that the club don't do anything , they complain about the marketing the club do they moan about lack of engagement with the fans. Although when something which is well marketed and engages the fans happen they moan about that too.

Success on the pitch will bring bigger crowds.
It doesn't work the other way round.
Crowds have dwindled from 10-15 years ago because of declining fortunes and then mid-table mediocrity.
Nothing wrong with the club trying PR stumts but most regulars are interested in the match itself.
People who make excuses for not going like bird shit on the seats would be back like a shot if we were top of the league.

Some folk won't be back whatever position we are in the league, they will be back however once the horsemen are gone.

Why don't the Board offer free entrance to the relegation to the conference match to celebrate 12 years of their inept temporary Custodianship?
