You'd hope Sorensen can score against Hartlepool reserves.

Eight of the first team squad in that starting eleven isn't there if you include Branthwaite?

Oh dear - Hartlepool who are currently ninth in the Conference are giving us a proper kicking and even worse it is their reserves and youth.

Cue Pressley's fans saying that it is a nothing game and we shouldn't read too much into it.

Well it says a lot to me anyhow after Saturday.

Might be seven as they only name ten players in the starting line up....

Just goes to show the shite we have in reserve. No wonder Pressley is sticking with the same failing 1st choice players.

Either our whole squad is of desperately poor quality or they are being badly coached.

4-0.

Seems to be no spirit or fight at all, never mind talent.

Players aren't buying into Pressley's methods and system and/or just aren't up to it.

Disgraceful performance and response to Saturday.

They are mainly his players so he has no excuses there, is it possible for another manager to get anything out of them?

Problem being that even if he had money in January it could make or break us so would it be wise to let him sign anyone with his track record.

Although it was only a reserve game, today's performance will further drain confidence from our very limited and fragile squad.

Pressley has already said in previous post-match comments that players seemed to have (temporarily) lost belief in the system he wants to play.

He has to carry the can - Webster was our "star" signing, pretty much the only experienced pro we recruited, signed early in pre-season to be the defensive lynchpin - that's gone well.

Pressley was a centre back, so was Holdsworth but it already looks like they got that one badly wrong, same goes for most of the other signings who we were optimistically hoping might come good.

Holding out until the end of the window for our main striker on loan also seems to have disastrously backfired if Sorensen is what we've ended up with, anonymous and can't even muster a consolation goal against Hartlepool's reserves.

That's three really, really poor and bleak performances on the bounce with no signs of a positive response or reaction to turn things around.

Another one at Stevenage and we'll be in a real tailspin.

Pressley's blueprint for the season is already in tatters I'd say.

Played in a few "bounce" games when coming back from injury or out of favour.

I often find if the club is flying, these results handle themselves, the players WANT to do well and be ready for when their time comes, they were also good enough.

If the first team is performing poorly, 99% these games would be well won by the lads desperate to show the manager they deserve a chance.

Lets have it right as well without any disrespect intended, this is Hartlepool reserves/kids.

I have not seen enough of the players in this game's ability, or their attitude, but that result is unacceptable, especially when you have a genuine chance of starting on Saturday due to the first teams performance.

"Prove to me you should be starting Saturday."

It feels like some emphasis was put on this game from the club's side - they've been Tweeting updates throughout and Jon Colman was there. A lot of these games we don't know are happening and we just get a brief summary on the site afterwards; this genuinely looks like we've wanted to use it as a platform to build on.

To be fair to Pressley in his post-match interview on Saturday he did say that there was no depth to his squad and the budget was fully spent. He has been increasingly downbeat about performances and the resources at his disposal. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if he did decide to walk at some stage by 'mutual consent' despite his love for the EFL green jotter he hugs during the match. It's still only early September and he has absolutely no-one singing his praises even though some are prepared to give him more time.

What was the crowd?

I've heard Pressley's on his way out - sooner rather than later possibly if things don't improve.

I struggle with the point of this game-and with a squad comprising only 14/15 players capable of trapping a ball, it risks injury and tiring them out.

No competition for places so what’s the point?

After seeing the starting line up there was no surprise in losing this game friendly or not .
There was five defenders named, Charlie Birch is a left back, three forwards and one midfield player..........Carroll who is not exactly a play maker.
Hoof ball sounds as if was the name of the game.

Previously we blew the budget on solid, experienced players.
People grew sick of that and we have tried to do it differently.
We have to give some if these players a bit more of a chance to improve.
Saturday's game was poor but other home performances haven't been that bad.
Thomas , for example, had a stinker.
It will be a more appropriate time to judge the team in about 12 games time.
A slow start was always pretty likely.

Surely you play a formation which suits the players you have instead of trying to shoehorn players into a system which doesn't suit them. I'm afraid Pressley is going to have to swallow his pride in using this new fad and go back to tried and tested methods.

Either that or he'll be getting his P45 before long once the board can negotiate a small termination fee.

Is he the one who stops to pull his sock up in the build up to their 4th goal? Incredible.

It’s frightening how easy it is to score against us.

There seems to be a bit of losing culture developing at the club since pressley arrived. It doesn’t help when I hear him saying things like.
“I don’t mind losing as long as we lose in the right way.”
