L2 Completed Pass Stats

A lot of Mike Jones and Byron Webster's passes have been to each other and then back again.

Jones has (arguably) been our best performer this season, in fairness to him.

It's a shame neither Webster nor Elliott can defend, which is what their principle job is. Pass stats are irrelevant if you're shipping goals all over the parish.

Surely all must realise that even Piglet and I could pass all day in our own half-Jones is way too deep but probably has to be given what’s around him.Oh for a Taiwo next to him to allow him to get forward

If it’s that easy, why don’t teams just “pass all day in their own half” once they go 1-0 up in a game?

Its not NFL ffs like.. no quarterbacks here, just a stupid irrelevant stat made up by sad [censored] which proves nothing about a players ability to pass a football.

Beat me to it MRF, another sad aspect of modern day football, the overload of stats, many of which are pointless and irrelevant.

Was it David Batty that made the Opta team of the week years ago playing for Blackburn after they got hammered at 6-0 at Arsenal? He had 100% pass completion - it was him who kicked off after every goal conceded!

Really though, what do these stats actually show? We’re obsessed with them these days and they seem to have replaced the old fashioned method of actually watching a player to see if he’s any good or not.

The only stat that matters is the result at the end of the game.

Any player keeping it safe and passing five yards to a tem mate will always have a higher percentage rate compared to a winger who is firing in crosses into the box.

These stats make a water-carrier look the best player in history. All complete tosh.

MRF points out to the NFL but any QB who justs dumps off five yard passes will always look better on the stat sheet and some one who likes to air it out. Would you take Ryan Fitzpatrick over Aaron Rodgers?
