Well that's a bit more positive than getting tanked by Hartlepool reserves. Good to see Sorensen on the scoresheet at last.

Sounds good to me. Rangers were supposed to be giving first team squad players an outing. Positive stuff from Carlisle. Sorry to spoil the misery.

Just got back from the game. I know it was only Rangers u-11s but a wins a win.

Rangers also fielded a mixture of first-team and academy players, including centre-halves Leon King and Lewis Mackinnon who are aged just 15 and 16.

I am been told the same by really good sources he is a natural goal scorer. Who would you drop/rest to get him in the team knowing he won’t run channels or be that good with his back to goal etc etc

I would play him alongside another forward and have two wingers getting balls in the box, but as we have seen, this is not SP's style.

We can't change the formation just to suit him, but if he does get on the pitch in future and gets a goal and shows he has what it takes, this might force a change. The 4-3-3 that SP was adamant he would play went out the window due to results.

So, probably not going to see him in and around that box, as we see with Olomola he drops very deep to allow others to get forward.

On Saturday both Olomola and Hope were very deep, to the point where I took most photos of them with my long lens, where I would expect to take most pics of forwards with the shorter lens. They both work really hard but when it comes to a break or even a fast attack we don't have anyone far enough forward to make use of it.

I think I'm getting old but much as I enjoy the fancy footwork and formations in the top devisions, I just feel at out level you can't beat a 442, where everyone knows their job and gets on with it.

It would be good going forward certainly as McKirdy and Thomas are two of the better wingers but neither are too keen on tracking back.

As you say its not Elvis's style.

I dont think they would have to do as much, they would have support from behind and to the side from the forwards.

Sometimes with the 3 up top, they had to cover nearly the whole pitch getting back earlier in the season.

Terrible, like watching kids playing Saturday morning...
