Never had Dolly down as a dirty player, certainly not enough to be able to coach Leeds in the art of fouling.

As soon as interest was being shown in the lad they should have extended his contract. What's our DoF doing to earn his salary

His contract was extended before interest started, at least we got that right. Once the interest starts no player is going to sign a contract extension.

I also heard the Leicester thing a few weeks ago. £1 million fee agreed for a January move.

Hopefully we'll get him back o n loan but I doubt it. He'll go on loan to a club in a higher division.

Saying that if you play for crap team you get more practice defending!

Thought he was poor today

I thought he looked a bit out of sorts today and playing within himself.He does look composed but appeared to be under strict instructions not to take the ball forward-one of his strengths.

Made a few mistakes too but he’s only just into the team so probably expecting too much so early.

I was willing him to forge forward like he did at Morecambe but as you say maybe under orders. Yes not as assured as usual yesterday so maybe pressure about his future getting to him and aware scouts were there

I would guess there will be no other 17 year olds playing centre half in the football league
Young players are going to make mistakes are they better making them in front of 4000 in league 2 at a damp Brunton Park or in a Leeds under 21s with no crowd watching ?

We did well to get a penny out of cosgrove he had signed a pre contract agreement with them, also didn't it turn out to be 40k with a sell . That's a lot better than free

Overheard a director say Liverpool & Wolves had been watching him too. A bidding war between interested parties & a loan spell back to us would be the best case scenario.

Rangers signed a young centre half from Oldham at the start of this season whos had a few games for them. Couldnt see them winning a bidding war with premier league clubs though.

Not being a premiership scout, why is it that Branthwaite is apparently worth 100 times more than Cosgrove was to us, who is now getting sniffed around for apparently millions?

The length of contract we've got him tied to?
The pockets of the club interested?
Some attribute of Branthwaite that makes it look obvious to them he'll be a premiership-level defender?

Probably the fact that Cosgrove couldn't his a cow's arse with a banjo until he went to Aberdeen was a factor.

There will be no first refusals. He will go to the club which offer the most, and Branthwaite will have a say where he goes to, too.

How many 17 year old move independently to the south from Carlisle? You could probably count them on one hand. Even the minority who actually leave Carlisle to go to University mostly go to Glasgow, Newcastle, Lancaster and Manchester.

If at 17 I was offered a hefty signing on fee and 5-10k a week over five years then I would have walked to whichever club wanted me.

Once you learn that when you are within the four walls of your home then you could be anywhere.

If the lad goes to a premier League team he will have someone wiping his arse for him, food sorted, accomodation sorted,somebody sorting his bills ect..nowt to worry about apart from football,x box and making sure he's wearing right designer clobber
