I would imagine he is just about self combusting with the thought he will be part of the interview process again, he can then make sure he drops it into every conversation that he "was part of the interview process" he reminds me so much of that other self important ego maniac, John Bercow.

He was in the Kings Head last night with Kenny Brown and Colin Carter, read into that whatever you want.

I think all being unkind-Billy and Jim are basically in the minority and unable to meaningfully influence a dysfunctional BOD.

Agree - but I also agree on the posts about his attitude posted on here.

The trust did release statements on both Sheridan and Pressley saying the decisions were unanimous and both had great access to a talent pool - they have to accept some criticism, however minimal.

All the flack they receive is all brought upon themselves. They could have been more open, but they chose to close shop and be in with the Dysfunctional Custodians.

Not sure what they can do ?

They speak out, not involved at all.

Or

Have some say in decisions and toe the party line.

Looks from the outside like: Jenkins and EWm (Via Jackson and DH make the decisions). Whilst SP, Nixon and Clibbens jump to their tune - each keeping their own benefits.

Its EWM mainky. Jenkins has very little say due to him being in debt to EWM via the club.

I’ve been on lots of Boards-some great, some not so, some totally dysfunctional.

If you are a director, you assume a lot of responsibility-surprising many don’t see it that way.But with that responsibility comes a voice, a chance to influence. If you can’t influence or add value, you leave.

Sadly, I see absolutely no reason for the Trust being on the Board but plenty of reasons why I wouldn’t be on it.

The Trust has nothing to offer-no cash, no proper and absolute fan representation, just a valueless shareholding and a blocking right which has stopped the club raising long term cash throughout the last 15 years. It basically needs to reinvent itself and become relevant again.

Key difference being ‘worked’. Matchday announcer at CUFC is basically unpaid hobby, whereas his role at Gretna was a proper job with pay.

Big difference...

Sad day when you are trawling looking for rubbish on Colin Carter-he’s a decent bloke and completely Carlisle. He was supportive of me too.

I think you should focus on those in charge-not someone who is a decent bloke doing his bit

I don't really know Colin Carter, but we refereed a couple of behind closed door friendlies with Carlisle about 20 years ago. He was always supportive and offered advice that I'll be grateful for - the complete opposite of Patty.

They can put out a statement officially declaring they have no faith in Jenkins, Nixon and Patt. It wouldn't actually influence anything but it would help show they are on the fans side and not in bed with the BOD.

The trust should have tabled a vote of no confidence in the current board of directors at the same time the billionaire fiasco came to a head. They should have demanded change at the top, the least it would have done is got the fans onside and shown us all they were genuinely a voice for the fans.

Instead they chose to go the other way and get into bed with the BoD, quite what that has achieved I don’t know. Was pissed off when Atkinson was batting fan’s questions away on behalf of the reluctant 3 sitting next to him at the fans forum a couple of years ago. He and Mitchell should have been on the other side of the table grilling the custodians with all the other fans in my opinion.

Are you telling me that Billy Atkinson doesn't know anything about the proposed takeover (according to news & star) what's this world coming to. This man who represents the fans with his no holds barred approach at the board meetings, fighting our corner, standing up to Nixon, Jenkins etc, lets not forget he was there posting season tickets out, I cannot believe he was not the first person in the loop who was notified of this event. Get him involved in the discussions asap we need him in there making sure the possible deal is right for the fans he represents. Come on Billy lad, we know we can count on you.

Billy Atkinson has made a statement today. He mentions that he was part of the decision process and he and the fellow decision makers all voted unanimously in favour of giving Chris Beech the job.

He hopes fans will be happy with the decision he’s made to not go for someone off the merry go round.

Expect to see him in various pubs with his scrap book of cuttings from the news and star, telling anyone who will listen about being on the board at CUFC and integral to the running of CUFC. Classic SMS.
