CUFC rank 4th out of the 92 for ‘Fan Engagement’

Well "get behind the club you ****s and Steve Patt offering people outside is "engagement" I suppose. (Latter would have been a literal case of the sh1t hitting the fan.)

Edited to add that twitter account has 97 followers so it appears their survey may have asked 1 person at each club.

I gave them the lowest possible score in each category so it wasn't mine that they read

To be fair, the club do engage - they have the CUSG meetings you can email directors etc and meet up.

The issue is implementing the engagement which is zilch - thats a different thing entirely.

I nearly spat my coffee out when I read that headline.

The one owner in the league whos door you can knock on [ either at the club or at his bussiness] whos then likely to take you to the pub for a chat and the crack. Who openly chats with fans of any club on The Twitter and who publishes the clubs accounts on a match by match basis.

Yet somehow his club doesn't even appear in the top twenty but as someone said tonite they think they've published the list upside down.

An as someone said Jenkins and Co do flout the FL rules about engagement and i know they've had a warning about it on at least the one occasion [ when they tried to claim having Nixon and Clibbins in a Radio Cumbria studio counted as a forum ]

And as he.s now in control i.m looking forward to the FL insisting that Day flies in for a forum very soon.

The rules are two forums a season [not a year ] which must be attended by the person/company who effectively owns/ controls the club

This information is supposed to be displayed on the clubs website but a lot of clubs have recently removed them as did CUFC which is a shame as the old statement explained the ownership situation very well and i know the FSA are already on the case over it with the FL.

I'd agree with the survey to be honest, the club really does go out of its way to engage with the supporters.

If you don't buy into the negative bullsh1t which Lapping & Co spout on here and approach things objectively you can clearly see it.

When you email the club, when you go and knock on the door, when you telephone - they respond pretty well. They're involved with our multifarious supporters groups very regularly.

If you're aggressive and abusive towards the directors then you shouldn't complain when you're treated in kind.

Also, I'm still not sure what sort of engagement you really want from the club as supporters? Do you expect Jenkins, Nixon or whoever to turn up at your front door, whisk you away for a romantic evening by candlelight and fall at your feet pledging to obey your every command?

Quite simply, if you want to engage more with the club - you have to put some effort in yourself. Not protest or the odd letter chucked in the post, but actual dialogue in civilised fashion with the folk running the show - the opportunity is there for any of you.

I Want them in the sunset pinned up against the window still there at 1am buying the beers as it was the only way to stop the mob hoying them out of those windows I bet that's an experience Micheal Knighton will never forget.

Instead what do we get ? The likes of Clibbins whos presence is just a waste of time because however tight you squeeze his neck it isn't going to change anything at the club.

Clibbens is the only person on the board who seems to have a bit of a positive reputation engaging with fans. For all the things he is criticized for, everyone seems to acknowledge his commitment to responding to fans concerns. I think that should be the normal standard among all directors though. Patt and Nixon get confrontational, Clibbens will actually be respectful in addressing what you have to say even if he disagrees with it.

You clearly seem to have a serious lack of judgement of people if you think Clibbins is anything else but a two-faced tosser.

I don't feel that he properly answered my questions about the alleged incident at the Northampton match, but in general he's usually good at engaging. If you ask around people will confirm they usually get a reply when they contact him, and that's already miles ahead of how the rest of the directors seem to treat supporters.

What happened at the Northampton match like?
