Good stuff in a way as we have another international on our books, till the end of the season at least.

Bad in another way as he will be out of the squad and we need him.

Funny that Curle was ridiculed for chasing after Hope and that his 'rubbish' chum Etuhu had to come with him as part of the deal.

Along with Gerrard and Parkes - the pair of them are by far our best players and I have been most impressed with Etuhu as he is having a lot of good games for us at present and not just the odd cameo and long may that continue as he breaks up the play very well and keeps it simple and we are benefiting for this, playing to his strengths and he has presence - if he gets injured then we may be knackered though.

I'll Oldham whilst you do it arf.

Possibly no chance of keeping him now till the end of the season, probably end up at Barnsley or maybe a Championship team will take a punt.

A sniff of cash and they will sell him or any other player.

I hope you’re joking munchy? He scored a couple of goals on a park field which made the sheepmount look good in a game played by two teams ranked lower than Hong Kong and you think this will alert championship clubs???

In fairness, Hallam Hope is more prolific at International Level than Messi, Ronaldo, Miroslav Klose AND David Nugent.

We have a player who is putting in some decent performances for us then he grabs a brace on his debut internationally and I don't care about the state of the stadium he still played and scored two.

Come on Frank, I am not saying that he has 'made it' but these performances count and will be more of a plus than a minus to his career.

As I said, League One or lower Championship.

Richie Bennett has only played 8 minutes more than Hope this season, and notched 2 goals and 3 assists.

Hallam Hope has notched 2 goals and 0 assists.

Bad news for us again then as last time he went away he came back jaded and he has only just picked up a bit of form and he is off again.

Pleased for Hallam himself mind you as it is obviously a great honour to be called up internationally, I would say that he could end up as our top internationally capped player but cannot see that happening as I can imagine Holdsworth cacked his pants when he looked at Hope and Etuhu's contracts and they will be gone as soon as he can get them out.

Even if they stay till the end of the season it will be the same scenario as last I would guess when we offer insulting contracts to make it look like we tried to keep them to get the fans off their backs.

Playing against Sunderland or El Salvador?

One is a highly volatile place where over many years civil unrest among the locals has been prevalent and where poverty is widespread. The other is El Salvador.

Barbados play this coming Sun. From N&S:

Sheridan, meanwhile, said he will continue to closely monitor Hallam Hope after his return from injury.

The frontman made his comeback with an 81-minute outing in the FA Cup win at Crewe.

That follows a hamstring injury sustained shortly after Hope returned from Barbados international duty.

Barbados are back in action this Sunday against the US Virgin Islands in the Concacaf Nations League.

Whether Hope could return to represent the Bajan side, Sheridan said: “We’ll have to see how he is, fitness-wise.

Hope not in Squad:

JS had said this to Jon Colman the other day:

Hallam Hope’s availability for the 11th-placed Blues has still to be confirmed despite Barbados facing the US Virgin Islands on Sunday. Sheridan said that, in light of Hope’s recent return from injury: “We’ll have to talk and see what’s the best situation for both parties.”

Their Technical Director (Ahmed Mohamed) explained a little more yesterday -

www.barbadosfa.com/news/?page=blogdisplay&ID=1235

"With a 23-man squad that was missing most of the overseas players, most-notably Hallam Hope and Krystian Pearce from England and Keasel Broome from the US, Mohamed explained that the move was a strategic one. “We have a bright roster! We played about 13 games that I remember without overseas players and we always had good results with overseas players and good results without overseas players. This time we decided to go with local players and that is the reason. Against Nicaragua, another music, another opponent and we will move to suit.” he said."

Game is 7pm local time tonight.

"If the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off."
