Sol Campbell the new Macclesfield Boss

It looks like they overspent their budget last year expecting better attendances in League 2. Now they're struggling to survive. All too common a problem in our division.

I know he's entitled to it but he's hardly skint.

£18k a month seems a bit extravagant for Macclesfield! (Not that they ever paid him by the sound of it)

It's rather unusual what Sol is doing. He doesn't get any priority with his claim by becoming a supporting creditor to the winding up petition but he does get the right to attend the winding up hearing and make representations to the court. Obviously he feels very hard done by and wants to kick the Club while it is down. Macclesfield going into liquidation would sort out that relegation place.

I would have thought a big chunk of the 180k is a bonus for keeping them up.

I had heard he paid for their travel to get them to matches several times and various other things just to keep the club going. It wouldn't take long to run up 180k if that was true.

According to their former commercial director 50k of it is and Bumble is right some of the rest isn't actually wages but things he paid for on his cards and was supposed to be reimbursed as expenses.

The word is that they're totally [censored] and short of the owner finding someone to buy it and clear the debt they will go under. And at that point their assets come into play and i think thats SC.s motivation.

His house in Corbridge is coming along.

He must need the 180 grand to go towards his new kitchen.

Somebody is allegedly trying to buy the club, he was on a Talksport this morning. He says the current owner is impossible to deal with and has asked him to put £500k in a holding account. The potential buyer said he’s willing to do this but wants guarantees as it will cost him £40k to do so.

Jim White has interviewed the current owner but he wouldn’t let him broadcast it.

Well that wouldn't be very good if Macclesfield went under for them and for us because we would lose three points.

In that scenario it wouldn't really matter as I would guess that there would be no team going down.

It would be us Stevenage and Morecambe battling to avoid the wooden spoon of finishing bottom.

Well we've done it before so we can do it again. It would proudly take it's place in the sparsely populated trophy case!

Oldhams owner is another of those self-important arse holes who thinks he can come over here from god know where and think he knows more than people who've been watching their club for 30 40 or 50 years.

One of the best adverts going for fan ownership Shame when they are a club whos fans could easily put way more a year in than he is if they just got their act together.
