Great result. Well done to everyone concerned.

At last, a decent home win, got stuck in from the first minute, Sowerby and Etuhu gave a good solid midfield performance, Devitt looked good and deserved his goal, good to see Grainger back, good team performance.

Good win but freezing in 2 fleeces, players must have been suffering and loads of slipping over going on, sadist 4th official adding 5 minutes on :-@, still we got another goal out of it

Yeah Sowerby is definitely a midfielder.

I was torn on whether to keep Yates but recently he’s made my mind up. Definitely worth keeping, tough little player as well.

As for Adam Campbell, I’m not sure what he actually is. Don’t expect him to be here beyond this month.

We need to back this win up with minimum 7 points from the next 3 games. All winnable games, starting with Crawley next week who got beat off macclesfield today .

We faltered after the Swindon 4-0 win, can’t be losing momentum so quickly again

Excellent to a man today ..great to have players in their proper positions at last...injuries have cost us no doubt. They started early this year as well....still let's enjoy what was the best performance in many a week. We looked like the team 3rd in the league.

On the weather..just heard Barrows boss say his players were suffering borderline hypothermia.

The side would probably get a diagnosis of schizophrenia or multiple personality disorder from a psychiatrist but how wonderful on a freezing cold afternoon to bear witness to that!
Just goes to show the importance of playing players in their best positions and getting a few back from injury.
With so many younger lads and loanees in the side Danny's presence in the side is more important than ever now and I thought he was superb.
Danny back frees up the side to play 442. Sowerby can play centrally in MF and Yates can play up top through the middle.
No more wing back duties and the young lads spread their wings and soared today.
So pleased for Sowerby. He's had a tough time on the right of late. Thought he was really excellent today.
Devitt back to full fitness pulling the strings, Nadesan out wider stretching things and Etuhu storming around with Sowerby in the middle.
The second goal on the break was so well managed and executed but the third goal, starting with Danny's piece of skill deep on the left, sweeping across the field, eventually coming over to the right before Devitt swept in the rebound was a thing of beauty. Wonderful, wonderful football.
It was just one of those days, wasn't it, when it all fell into place. Collin's world class save at 0-0, clinical finishing, Oles coming out late on, announcer forgetting who was being subbed, Colchester players appearing to trade blows with one another and a last minute free kick from captain marvel.
On days like these, even with such a painfully bare squad and all else going on with the club, it dares you to dream.
Brilliant, just brilliant to watch some of that today.

i wouldn't suggest the lack of activity on this thread is down to nothing to 'twine' about......more so people who are not attending the game have other things of interest to do, especially at this time of year. its only a handful of fans who bother to twine now anyway. the rest, like me, are just wasting time and energy caring for a club with parasites at the helm.

Great performance and great goals. Devitt was superb. It was a bit chilly today but well worth it.

For me the midfield was a revelation today ..Sowerby showed great skill and awareness and Etuhu was back to his pre-injury best..cool calm and collected, giving Devitt licence to get forward...was great to watch how it all gelled and 4 excellent goals to boot

On another note, it's like Greenland up here tonight.

I thought that was a cracking performance from beginning to end. Colchester players didn't look keen when they came out for warm up.

Great defensive display limited their chances, Ethuhu and Sowerby were outstanding and the four offensive players linked up excellently. As said elsewhere round pegs in round holes

Me and my dad went to Annan a few years back when pretty much every other was off. That day, on your artificial pitch, was up there with the coldest ever. It was like shakleton (?) And "I may be some time" when I went to the pie hut.
Today was mild in comparison.

I thought Colchester displayed the classic symptoms of Soft Southerner Syndrome. A cold wind with rain and they didn’t want to know. They hardly had a kick of the ball in the first 20 minutes whereas our players realised that the best way to keep warm was to run around. A fully deserved win.

We have been shite compared to them to be fair as the league table confirms.

Thought at the time the celebrations for the 4th goal were a bit odd. Danny simply stood there with his arms aloft staring straight at them and grinning like a Cheshire cat, before running to the paddock then most of the players turned to the Colchester lot and started applauding, bloody marvellous stuff.

We're not that shite we are 12th. I always thought you were shite if your were bottom of the league.

Yates was running through the middle and got blocked off as the pass was played into him
