Two teams have to keep all their players together and motivated till June 20th, the one that goes up is miles behind the other teams in League 2 when it comes to bringing in new players.

Then in a week or not much more, the winning team will be starting next season's preseason, or if they are allowed a holiday, will be starting a couple of weeks behind the rest.

Who on earth chose the 'central' stadium of Bristol to host the final - Torquay?

Ashton Gate is an amazing stadium these days, I am sure the teams/fans will enjoy the weekend down there.
The Harbourside is close by with hundreds of bars/restaurants on the waters edge.

Nope. Not counting last season cos it was all to pot with the pandemic the last three finals were:

2019 11 May
2018 12 May
2017 14 May

This is a good 5 weeks after that, totally crazy. I would imagine they wouldn't get a lot of choice regarding stadiums. Most would be dug up in June!

National League Season didn’t start until early October, a Month behind the Football League. They also had several little periods of stop/start due to various C-19 outbreaks. They were always going to be playing catch-up...

Not sure the logic of spinning it out over 3 weeks. Presumably a bit of extra exposure for the National League.

Fair enough, nothing against them, they should be in the league obviously they would just be another club who would steamroll past us, which is a depressing thought.

That goes for whichever club comes up to be fair.

I'd prefer the winner to be in order Stockport, Tartlepool, Notts County, Chesterfield, Torquay. Bromley can fk right off.

Yes, I agree but surely that should be all the more reason to get the semi's played reasonably promptly and get straight on with the final after that. It doesn't seem fair that the team who wins the playoff will start the next season at a disadvantage twice over.

Last set of fixtures on 29th May, then playing on the next 3 Saturdays, not much wiggle room apart from maybe playing this midweek which would bring it all forward a week?

So out of that lot, it would be Stockport for me.
A good away day with some good pubs close to the ground, and I haven't been there since we won the league in 2006.

You would have to fancy Stockport to win it and gain promotion again next year from league 2 as have ambitious owners ??

They already have a proven striker at this level in Madden to help do so. Yet another striker who couldn't hit a barn door for us.

Torquay 4 2 up now, 4th a very dodgy looking pen given against Mark Ellis, looked like a good challenge to me.

Ellis got the ball for sure so any last hope for Notts Co. was killed by the ref.

A much better atmosphere at that match than at Wales vs Switzerland but that's because the Wales fans probably would've had a better view if they'd gone to Armenia.
