We all have different opinions.

Football is not science, football is art.

The game is not a mathematical equation with a single correct answer. It's a subjective industry, to a large degree beauty is the eye of the beholder.

There are many interpretations, many ways to win, many ways to lose, many opinions - none more valid than any other.

We need, as supporters, to accept fellow supporters may have opinions which differ from our own and respect their right to hold these opinions and express them.

If you disagree with the opinion of a fellow supporter then you should also have the right to explain why, in a rational and civilised fashion. Unprovoked abuse of fellow supporters is not ok - and should be tolerated by any of our fans, or the admins on this forum.

I note with disappointment, the continued abuse and bullying levelled in my direction by members of this community. It hardens my resolve to continue to share my opinions with you all, I nearly retired from this forum, but I will not let mindless minority win.

I will never come looking for any fellow supporter to abuse them, as happens to me when I post here. I will, on occasion, disagree and I will express that disagreement without resorting to abuse. But in truth, when people come looking for me - why shouldn't I have the right to defend myself and retaliate?

I'd like to ask you to please respond to any opinions you may disagree with (not just my own) a little dignity for yourself and in calm, reasoned manner without insult, bullying or profanity. I don't think that's too much to ask.

Thank you.

You can only complain about abuse if you don’t or haven’t done the same. Unfortunately you have form.

Steaming hypocrite.

Which part of what I wrote do you disagree with Holmer?

And Griff, I refuse to be drawn into your bitter web of lies.
Well, I want to watch the highlights of the match later tonight, so probably not enough time to answer that.

I commend you for planning to watch the six-minute YouTube highlights on repeat for eight hours :)

I’m sorry but anyone who was delighted and happy when a young lad (Brennan Dickinson) got a very serious injury deserves all he gets !!!!!!

This still leaves a very sour taste in my mouth

Dish it out, but can’t take being ridiculed for the shite he posts.

I think it would take 5 mins tops to find unprovoked abuse from Piglet to fellow posters/players or managers/ex players.

But,I’m off to enjoy the night, enjoy all 😊
If you can't take it, then don't dish it.
Simple.

I ignore the posts & posters I disagree with. I don’t see any point in wasting time abusing people or name calling. Happens far too much on this forum.
Ok "five minutes".

Please find some "unprovoked abuse to fellow posters or ex-players" and I'll gladly (more than) apologise.

I suspect I'll be waiting for quite some time.

Criticism of players and coaching staff is not "abuse" it's criticism. Anyone with half an ounce of intelligence can understand the difference.
As per Dickenson.

My opinion is: one of the reasons we're having a respectable season so far is that he isn't anywhere near the team.

Am I delighted we aren't in the bottom half of the table? Yes, absolutely, no apologies.

Perhaps Lummy was right, you are sat there all alone, you seem to find all ways of seeking attention, I seem to remember a friend on Facebook getting a load of nasty abuse from you Piglet for no apparent reason, right then I made my mind up that I don’t particularly like you, even though I have never actually met you…..sorry!
I have never abused anyone on Facebook, let alone resorted to "nasty abuse".

I've received plenty, but never given any.

You might be mistaken, but given your obsession with me I suspect you might be making it up.

30s young to me pall
30 is young to Piglet too :D
I look at it this way.

Dickenson is well into his third year at the club.

Purely in terms of stats, he's probably averaging around 17 games and 1 goal per season.

In terms of performance, his technical ability on the ball is probably down there with the worst players I've ever seen in a blue shirt. It's fundamental for any player to be able to pass the ball to players wearing the same colour shirt, Dickenson is not capable of this basic skill.

His strengths? He's left footed and can kick the ball hard in the general direction of the goal. For me that's not enough.

I have zero sympathy for him because he's been paid a very decent wage by the club for three years and has basically contributed nothing of value in return.

It was absolutely a mistake to extend his contract - and am I happy he's injured and not keeping Charters, Gibson, Armer, Moxon or even Dennis out of the team? You bet I'm happy - and I'm going to be honest enough to admit that.

If you disagree, fine, you're entitled to. It's like any other opinion about any other aspect of the club - we're entitled to disagree without any childish hysterics.

The thing is Piglet, of course, everyone has their own opinions, and whilst I don't agree with yours most of the time they can be interesting and make talking points good for a discussion forum.

Unfortunately though, any points you have put up for debate have been totally negated by saying you are happy that a player has a horrible long-term injury. Justifying it by saying he is being well paid is, to my mind, total rubbish. Do we feel no empathy for a bus driver who gets injured at work because he's being paid whilst he's injured?

I find that the comments about Dickenson (and others) make it impossible to have a reasoned discussion. It's a shame because I have always felt that the club needs a vibrant independent messageboard and, in my opinion, your vicious comments stop people from posting.

If he is so bad how would he keep those named out of the team?? Or are you questioning Paul's management skills??

In reality you are a very sad person, always have been and always will be.
The single most passive aggressive poster on this forum, is you - Bumble. Just because you disagree with something doesn't mean it's "vicious". The real reason people stop posting is people like you persist in bullying those who post opinions they don't agree with.

Comparing a bus driver to a professional footballer is a bit silly, in all honesty. If a bus driver kept crashing the bus, would the bus company give them a new contract?

Professional footballers are extremely lucky and are in a privileged position compared to the rest of the workforce. I have enough empathy for them in comparison to those who work in the health service, essential services and those who work long hours in crappy jobs and struggle to make ends meet. At the end of the day if they're injured, or if they're deemed not good enough, they have the option of getting a proper job and doing an honest day's work like anyone else.

Dickenson will heal perfectly well and will be physically fine, it's not like he's lost a limb or has a serious disease. Some people have lost all perspective just because he's a footballer they like.

And as regards "management skills", Mr Banks. I would question the competence of any manager who gives Dickenson a contract, you're correct. Maybe he makes a cracking cup of tea, gives a next level foot rub or is capable of clearing the cones on the training ground away in record time, who knows?

I would very much like you to name or point out a specific time when I have bullied someone on here. As you say it's about opinions and when I disagree with an opinion I say so, whether on here or at Brunton Park, where I welcome a chat with anyone. I don't think anyone is scared to come up and talk about issues with me or feels bullied. If you can produce someone or if anyone feels intimidated by me please speak up.

As you have said it's about opinions, not hysterics. I respect the fact you don't like Dickenson as a football player, that's absolutely your right. In any discussion I would be happy to listen to your opinion, then surely the point of the discussion is either to agree or disagree. It cannot be ok when it's agreement and bullying when it's disagreement.

I wasn't comparing a footballer with a bus driver (or didn't mean it to come out that way), what I meant was if any person has a horrible long-term injury or illness whatever their job or financial situation, in my opinion, it's totally crass to gloat about it, I find it totally abhorrent, others find it funny possibly but not something I could feel comfortable with.
