TheCumbrians.Net Podcast - Season 16/17, Episode 1 - Plymouth Argyle (H)

A few of you may remember last season there was some talk about potentially doing a podcast for the website, focusing on fans' views and what's happening on a matchday etc...

Well, we've finally got off our backsides and put the first episode together before and after last weekend's first home game of the season against Plymouth Argyle.




The first episode is very much a pilot - a work in progress and I suspect it will change a fair bit over the season. It's just me and cufcmike talking and we'd like to get a few more people involved - I know cufcdeano said he'd take part as well and we're going to get CCU on to give his top tips on which fast-food outlets to take L2 managers to for celebratory winning run meals!

A few things to bear in mind....

1) The whole thing is recorded on my smartphone - the quality is actually better than I expected but still not perfect - it was quite windy during some of the pre-match stuff. I might look into purchasing a proper microphone for it.

2) Yes, we did forget to mention Reggie Lambe's goal at half-time!

3) No, there was no (or at least very little) talk of the billionaire. We'll leave off the field stuff to a future episode I'm sure.

I'm not 100% sure when the next episode will be - I might try and do one at Derby away if this was is fairly well received.

At the moment we're using SoundCloud as the host but if anyone knows of a better option, let us know. I'm not sure they have an option to download the file itself.

Getting a podcast on iTunes is a little bit more complex from the (admittedly basic) research I've done, we'd need to find a way of hosting it cheaply. We might look into that after a few episodes - for now SoundCloud seems the best option.

Cheers everyone for the feedback on the first episode - it's been listened to 358 times since it was uploaded which is a lot more than I expected!

Comments have been positive but some good solid constructive criticism from others which is appreciated.

Looking at doing the next episode for the Derby game on Tuesday night - topic of discussion will of course be the League Cup - I'll start a thread asking for any ideas on what you want us to talk about. Won't be cufcmike on this episode as he can't make it due to work, but hoping to have a capable replacement for him!
