From what I could gather Mellish was one of the players who had Covid and his 2 starts since our restart seemed to back this up. He looked tired, lethargic and lacking energy and fitness. If he’s fully recovered he’ll be a welcome addition given his usual high energy workrate, if not then frankly he’ll be a waste of time.

Nervous with 1o minutes to go... even though I forecast 1-4 on Griffs prediction league. I just hope we play better than Tuesday, don't give away a penalty and don't get red cards.

Not really sure where Mellish and Dickenson are playing but they’re putting a shift in and our high press it limiting their chances.

As it opens up I think we’ll get a chance against their fullbacks who are very attacking minded. I really think Toure could cause some problems for their left back.

Don’t think Zanzala was the right change in this game. I think Toure would have held onto it better and got us much needed territory up the pitch.

Zanzala hasn’t adapted to us yet, think he’d be better coming into a game where we’re on top of things rather than backs to the wall like we’ve been this half.

Point is a result we would have taken at Salford a few weeks back... all on for Tue.. every game played is more match fitness and now a chance to get back to home form again. Two winnable games, hopefully 6 points and we are firing again. We know the quality is there in our squad, and I am convinced we will get back up to top 3.

On the evidence of the last four games, there won't be a contract for Zanzala at the end of the season. I've never seen a 'striker' so poor at holding up the ball and on the rare occasions he had the ball under control, had no idea what to do with it. He may be better off in a more withdrawn midfield role. Guy had a worrying stinker too, he's looked completely spent the last couple of games. Mellish and Riley started brightly but tired.

On the plus side Farman was superb and Tanner and Dickenson gave improved displays.

Guy took a few games to get going at the start of the season. It seems he’s back to being slightly off it again after the lack of matches. I’m sure we’ll start to see him back to his usual self in 1 or 2 games time. Likewise Bennett, just don’t think he’s quite at the level he was in December, but I’m sure he’ll get back.

Really good point against a decent side. Good first half which we controlled pretty well, disappointed we didn’t threaten more but second half they were a different team. When you can bring the likes of James Wilson off the bench - possibly the best player in the league - you’ve got a seriously good squad.

Harrogate was abysmal, today was much improved but still not up to standard, I’m expecting a good performance and result on Tuesday, no excuses now. Anything other than a win and I’d seriously question our promotion credentials.

Not really. They got absolutely stuffed 4-1 at Salford, then failed to beat Southend at home last week.

We’re not looking anything like a promotion team at present. I know the pitches haven’t been conducive to a passing game but this hoofing the ball up the park hoping for the best is hard to watch.

Salford looked a decent side though so a point isn’t too bad. Good job Farman was on his game or it would have been none.

We don't know which players had COVID and how badly - not that I'm expecting that kind of information to be forthcoming. Some of these lads seem to be struggling to regain the form we had prior to the long break. Mellish, Allesandra, Guy, Bennett

I can't see why Patrick can't last a full match or Dickenson gets picked at all whereas Furman rarely gets even a sub appearance. Today I would have brought Toure on instead of Dickenson and Furman in place of Mellish in the hope that this could free Guy up to be more forward thinking.

We have to remember that it wasn’t just games we missed during the break, until about a week ago we’d barely been able to train outside. That’s bound to take its toll.

But, considering the lack of pitch time - both training and game minutes - it was a good step forward from Harrogate against a really classy looking side.
I thought off the ball we did well - harried and hassled but on the ball struggled a little bit. Too many hopeful punts rather than a touch, a turn or a ball played sideways.
As Frank said that bloke who came on from Man U looked like he could waltz his way through us.
This side has guts, grit and character which was sadly missing from the Pressley teams.
Considering Salford hadn't been beaten at home you can't knock an away point against such a decent side.
From what you can see on iFollow, I thought Tranmere have been the best team we've played this year so will be interesting to see how we get on.

Guy looks a poorer player at the minute as teams have worked out how to manage our predictable 4-3-3.

Everyone knows from the off we're going to hump it long and have two of our three midfielders "pressing" high up the pitch. Guy is left isolated as the holding midfielder.

When you're aware of this you just stick an extra man in midfield centrally and Guy's easily outnumbered. He's effectively trying to do the work of two players. He'd look a better player in a midfield four with Furman added centrally or even with a player with a tiny bit of positional awareness rather than Mellish.
