Thoroughly deserved promotion after a magnificent season, and what a manager they have in Evatt, although will be interesting to see how long they can keep him.

Both the club and their trust appear to have been working tirelessly during the last few months keeping the money coming in, and CUFC could have learnt from their ways.

Can easily see them streets ahead of Carlisle on the pitch next season with the momentum they have been them.

Over to you, Jenkins and Day.

Easily streets ahead of Carlisle on the pitch next season you say?

Possibly, but not easily. I think you’re underestimating the gulf between League 2 and the national league. Gone are the days when teams regularly come up from that league and piss League 2. Look at Orient and Salford last season, both found the step up tough. The only team I can really think of doing really well in their first season back up in recent years was Tranmere, but they did it by the playoffs after a mediocre start to their league 2 season.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Barrow struggle around the bottom third of the division.

We'll see how good Evatt is NEXT season.
Anyway I don't give a monkeys as long as we stuff em, home and away next season.

Yes! The Cumbrian derby is back. I've been looking forward to Barrow away forever but will we be able to go?

Picture the seen, it’s the first game back at Brunton Park. 1000 Barrovians in the away end a proper derby. We stuff them 6-0 and we’re the pride of Cumbria rings out around Brunton Park and they’ve all caught the early train home.

(But they’re not really Cumbrians are they)

Barrow has never been a ‘Cumbrian’ Derby. They were still in Lancashire when they lost their League place!

They’ll also bring plenty more than 1000 up here, could well see them filling their East Stand allocation and using the Waterworks, whilst we’ll likely receive 800 tickets or so down there - assuming crowds are back to normal post Covid...

Yes, it'll be a tasty do with a good atmosphere (if crowds are allowed).

Cumbria is an older concept than the modern county boundaries though. Its older than even the traditional county boundaries and Lancashire itself is a new concept in comparison.

They only have a capacity for 400 away fans at the minute and no roof over it. Holker street has a capacity for 5000 and a bit so hopefully they would give us 1000. I think Morecambe is actually quicker by car than barrow is from Carlisle. It would be good if there was a special train put on.

They struggle to run a normal service so I'd think a special is doubtful

I predict they'll finish above us next season as they have more ambition than to just stand still and stagnate like our current BOD targets for the club.

Far too early to say that, in my opinion.

I'll reserve judgement until we see what players Beech manages to identify and the club manage to bring in.

The Barrow promotion could be a problem for BBC Radio Cumbria as to which club gets FM commentary, unless they can vary the FM output across different transmitters.

Has to be us surely. We’re far the bigger more prestigious club with a larger audience. Just keep Barrow where they are, AM or whatever it’s called.

Think we'll get more than a few hudred tickets considering the highest crowd was just over 3,000 which probably included a few hundred away fans.

Just had a quick read of their forum to see what their reaction is to losing Evatt. They’re a deluded bunch. Some of them genuinely think Barrow to Bolton is a sideways step, some even suggesting it’s a step down. I don’t think they quite realise what a tiny little club they are when it comes to this level.

I bet your favourite song goes something like this:-

But I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walks a thousand miles
To fall down at your door

My guess is their away end will have a certain capacity and we’ll get that as a allocation.

Deluded, absolutely. Simon Grayson, Keith Hill, Kevin Nolan, all apparently prepared to walk over broken glass to take over from Evatt.

It gets better: Simmo, Darren Fletcher, Paul Scholes, heckinbottom, Nigel Clough, Robbie Fowler and so on. And I thought some of us were deluded. Those lot need taken down a peg or two next season.

Don’t Bolton have a transfer embargo which means they can’t sign any under contract players not just Barrow.

Bolton will have plenty to choose from when you see all the players available for free, their location and facilities will sway a lot of players when it comes to comparing League 2 clubs as their next employers.

David Dunn looking favourite for the Barrow job at the moment.

Told you some of Barrow's fans were deluded, however I think Evatt is even more deluded, at least Barrow appear to be a forward thinking club, with what appears to be forward thinking owners, Bolton is quite simply a basket case of a club.

Could it really be legal for Bolton not to be able to sign a player from Barra?
Think I would be questioning that if I was a Barra player.

Good point, I honestly can't see it being any more than a 'gentleman's agreement', we'll see how long that last's. ;)
